I have a 03 dbl cab and am looking to do a little upgrading of the speakers... can anyone help me find out what size they are... I would rather just figure it out instead of tearing apart the door...

IIRC door speakers should be 5 1/4", not sure about the rear ones.

03 Double Cab has a weird 5x7 up front. I have a picture somewhere that I'll post if I can find it and in any case most guys I make the adapters for replace them with a 5 1/4" since a 6.5" will require some cutting.

Same in the rear if I remember correctly. BTW, sometimes you may see the small ovals referred to as "6x8" and those are physically the same as "5x7" however both are very different in size compared to "6x9".

anyone got any suggestions on a brand?... I had Pioneers in my other truck and they were pretty good... I am just looking for something inexpensive and sounds good... not into blaring the music for everyone else to hear... just want good sound

i don't know how much you plan to drop on a system but what i have is 4 kicker ds 650 door speakers and an 1000w amp to power those. I have a lot of power to them and they sound really clean and crisp. I like pioneer speakers also those are good.

Pioneerelectornics.com :] or hit up a stereo shop. but make sure you find ratings for those shops because some places will try to butt rape you if they think you don't know anything about speakers. i honestly suggest doing a little more research first. www.sounddomain.com and crutchfield.com... just go there for reviews.. dont buy off there.
