wedding speech.......from the best man.

well......my buddy is getting married on june 6th.....and im the best man. so today he asks if i can make a speech. anyone here ever made a speech at a wedding?? how did you go about it?? my deal is.....i hate public speaking.......i dont mind speaking in front of 10to 15 people, but there are gonna be alot more than that at the reception, so i gotta figure this out!!! im gonna try to make it a funny speech.

 

just get as drunk as u can and by the time the speech comes along just slurr everything

 

hmm....thats one way to do it..........but i think i'll be drinking afterwards......gonna make the speech first...especially since i dont like the chick he's marrying.......if i get hammered first, im gonna say shit that i totally regret!!

 

the speech is gonna be towards the end after dinner. you better be drunk by then!

 

drunken speech is the way to go.... its more memorable, you'll laugh your asses off the rest of your lives remembering that....

Maybe try to include a few fun memories of you two. Maybe you should just drink a little to help take the edge off public speaking.

You should have plenty of time by then to make an outline of the things you want to speak about. I think you'll do just fine.

 

I'd get a decent buzz first. It's easier that way. Then look at everyone like they are just wearing their underwear.

I'm in the same position, will be doing a best Man's speech in Oct. Have a few drinks, that's fine. Have too many and you'll look like a jerk.

As said up there ^^^ there's a lot of stuff on the www, and ther's a lot of books written on the subject. Tell a few funny stories, possibly a little bit of embarrasment for the groom (no too much or he'll kill you) and you'll be good.

Doing a speech to 100 people is no differnt to 10 people. Practice it plenty and you'll be fine.

And you'll easily get laid if you do it well!

 

yeah man.....im gonna work on it. my buddy says it aint gotta be long or anything, so ima go with that. i guess you are right about the amount of people....just seems alot more weird to me.

and as far as getting laid....im married...........so yeah, that'll probably happen afterwards.

 

just mention something to this nature as i did, twice. something along the line as how lucky they are to have found each other and most arent that lucky, and you wish them the best of luck, short and sweet is the answer here!

well.....i definitely dont like her, and i have never met her friends/bridesmaids.......they are all coming up from florida. so...i can only assume!!

thats out..........the wife doesnt allow me to have tequila.......i tend to get rather rowdy and wanna fight for some reason.
