Ha you are just causing trouble. :stirthepot:

My thoughts... if the wheel doesn't fit in the wheel well at full stuff cut the wheel well to make it fit!:D Sure there are other factors to consider like gearing and MPG's but it is a start. I had 35's on my last rig and they rolled over large rocks sooo much nicer then 33's. Much less effort because you change the leverage point on the tire to rock.

my hwy mileage is actually the same as stock with the 35s. my city mileage took a dump, but probably just a hair more than it would have with 33s. my 35s also fit at full stuff while turning. so wha5 your saying have is they're perfect!? I think so too haha.

but you two had to do body lifts... granted 1 inch isnt huge but it could cause more stress on other parts ie. steering column....

And yes Eric i had to stir the pot a lil

how r those 35s fitting at full stuff into the rear fender wells without huge amounts of cutting or larger bump stops? what im getting at is sure, u can move all the suspension down away from the body to fit larger tires, but u r also raising the center of gravity greatly. if u were to have max stuff and fit the tires INTO the wells, you would have essentially the best off all worlds.

True..I used the bumps from a 4runner and they're about an inch longer.

But...I did that because I haven't really done anything to upgrade the rear shocks. I added a shock extension to get me by until I do, and that's why I went with the longer bumps so I that wouldn't fully collapse the shock. However, we cycled the rear end with the stock bumps when we did the lift and they still clear. There's a very slight rub, but it's not at a spot and enough where it will cause the tire to eat the fender.

To me, the additional inch in clearance was worth the additional inch higher center of gravity from the body lift. I wanted to run 35's and my only two feasable options was a drop bracket lift or a small body lift. The body lift kept my COG lower than the drop bracket so I went that route. In a perfect world, the tires should tuck perfectly up into the wheel wells when stuffed, so I agree. But in a perfect world, the tacoma would have a factory option for a solid front axle and larger wheel wells... :D
