Alright in my Double Cab there is a component that I cant figure out what the heck it is. It is on the driver side rear just behind the seat. it says

    Converter with Bracket
    Toyota
    08721-04821
    061800-0171
    12V
    Denso

Anyone have a clue what it is.... I was thinking it was something for either the stereo or the Alarm but not sure....

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I think it is for the towing package.

Yes - it's the towing circuit 'converter' box.

Ya I'm almost 100% sure that it controls your trailer lights and maybe something else. But I know it controls your trailer lights.

does anyone know where i can get a new one? I think mine's bad since it's only giving off turn signal power, the stop and running lights are not working . . .

Sorry for jacking this thread but I have the exact same problem as Finalshot. Turn signals work but tail and brake lights do not. I've traced the lack of power to the tail light wiring back to the converter box but I can't get in to the box easily. Finalshot, did you find an answer for your problem?

Are they fused ? Seems like I remember replacing a fuse in that box.

I'm hoping that's the case. I haven't been able to get the box open yet. I lifted the two clips on top and both broke right off. The cover still did not just pop off like I expected. I had read elsewhere that someone damaged the contents of the box when they opened it so I haven't been forceful. Yet.

If there are fuses in there then that most likely is my problem. Thanks for the help.

That's exactly what I needed! Thanks! I found the fuses this morning and my stop and tail light fuses were both blown.

Glad to know I don't have to get into the box. I've been trying for the last couple days and so far that little plastic box has defeated me in trying to get it open.
