How strong are the towing hitches on the 2nd gen Tacoma's? Will they take the blow of a rear impact from another car? Reason why I'm asking cause next year at school this girl who i hate soo much is gonna have to park behind my truck and she is the worst driver ever. First day with her license she rear ends my friends Grand Cherokee (she hit the gas instead of brake pedal) and then refused to pay for the damages. So I am gonna put on a trailer hitch on my truck so if she pulls to forward she will have a nice hole in her accord's grille and i wont have to worry about her hitting my bumper. Will doing this ruin or bend or weaken the towing hitch if she hits it?

Dang 8 bolts to the frame, I had a feeling it was strong but my friend who thinks he knows it all says any rear blow to towing hitches will make them bend up ward and break off and cause more damage, I didnt listen to him but i still wanted to see it this will not hurt my truck

You wont have a problem with the hitch, but if the impact is great enough there is a risk of bending the frame. Although a fender bender in a parking lot is not likely to cause such damage.

Throw one of these four ways on your truck and it is sure to cause her some grief. Or you could go with a hook, then you would have a practical use for it when off road.

I shouldnt worry too much about bending the towing hitch because she has a 97 pre wrecked accord coupe thats fixed now, but still her hitting me with an accord will do nothing to my truck
