Found premium for $4.029 today. Wished I had been in my truck to fill up there.

However in the car I was driving I averaged 37.4 mpg on the interstate.

ok, but if the stations aren't resupplying due to the wholesale price jump, you're going to be hurting...

Haven't seen any lines except at Sam's/Costco.
Checked Gasbuddy and prices have jumped another $0.20 in the last 24 hours.
We're still under $5 out here in Chino though... the higher stations are around $4.75, Sam's is around $4.40

    Yup.
    http://www.fuelly.com/driver/Rich91710/tacoma

All of those entries are from the same station except for the latest... needed a car wash and too tired to use the coin-op so I paid a nickle a gallon more than my regular station and got the touch-free.

I'll be gassing up again either tomorrow or Tuesday after work.

One thing the government CAN do is provide a "tax holiday"

    Federal tax $0.18
    California tax $0.36
    California sales tax $0.10+
California underground tank storage fee $0.02

There's 0.66... PER GALLON... that's going straight to the government.
$10 out of my fuel stop does not go to the station, refiner, or producers.

Sales tax used to be calculated differently, but in July 2010, the state fuel tax was doubled from $0.18 to $0.36, and the sales tax percentage was reduced by roughly the same amount... the state had been losing revenue due to falling prices so they moved part of the tax from the variable percentage to the fixed excise tax.

well, ...now you're on to something ;)

...looks like finally moonbeam is going to "allow" an early switch to "winter" fuel... of course, he makes an attempt to assuage the environmentalist whackos by saying it will have "negligible" effect on the environment :D

which "you guys" are you referring to?... i'm just pointing out that kalifornia (by virtue of "its" gov't) puts itself into these ridiculous situations that are 10x worse than they'd be in most any other state...
