So the rich dude's can fuel their V12 engines and speed boats with the average Joe's tax dollars? That's ridiculous.

the answer is in the article i posted a link to above,... it's in there if you read between the lines - for instance, i'd clue in on "air resources board" ;) like i said before, kalifornia handicaps itself... maybe moonbeam waited a bit to poll-test the situation and clear the air w/ the enviro lobbies?...

They require use of a special blend of gas which is currently low, which is why prices have skyrocketed.

i don't think anyone is claiming it's their fault directly... basically, they have a enviro-heavy bureacracy and stringent state regs on fuels, emissions, etc (i.e. you've probably heard of "kalifornia compliant" vehicles, etc.) - anyway, bureaucracies are better for "tempering" volatility in policy, but generally horribly slow and inflexible at reacting to crisis... i think that's basically the gist of it here...

We have a shitload of stock of winter blend available. The production/distribution problems are impacting the summer blend supplies.

Winter blend normally begins on November 1st, and it will literally take an act of the governor directly, or the CARB, to permit early release of those stockpiles.

Haven't had the news on today.
It had not happened as of last night when I opened my new bottle of JW Black.

Ya, I was hoping to go another 24 but shopping over the weekend put me at 320 by the time I got home.
I knew I could make 410, but don't care to push it. Ended up paying $4.68 compared to $4.43 last Wednesday and $4.14 the week before.

Total difference for 14 gallons: $7.56 more total, $3.50 more than Wednesday.
