Trail damage looks sexy. Especially on SWB!

and that ^^^^ is why i made my sliders so wide and made a roof rack from .120 wall tube.....

fenders and bedsides are one thing, but fucked up doors are a whole new ballgame.

With the angle of that tree it would have to be some really wide sliders and rack to save you. It's the same tree my buddy's FJ hit the trip before. Every time we wheel there someone hits that damn thing.

it really wasn't that slippery. no more than a wet day at rausch (lol, is there ever a dry day at rousch:p).
one second, the tree was on the slider, the next, it was like that. i don't think i could have done that if i tried.
the tree was actually on the inside of my wheel, touching the axle. we attached a winch to the wrap-around of my rear bumper, and pulled sideways as i slowly reversed.

it may have been slightly run over :anonymous: (not intentionally)
the recovery actually went incredibly well for what could have heppened, and only took about a minute after we got the winching truck in place.
trees had it out for my this trip. i hit hard on about an 8'' diamiter tree earlier in the day. had it not been for the bumper wing, i'd be out a headlight, fender, and probably a hood.

    where the hell is that?

i'm down. that's only 2.5 hours away......closer than rausch. the place any good? only good place i've wheeled in VA is the cove, in Gore, where they host Big Dogs. George washington national forest is kinda lame.

in other news, turns out the bedside smash was a little more. i have about an inch and a half vertical crack in the top corner of the bed.

one step closer to a flat/tube bed i gues. i'll repair the bed in the mean time though. don't want it spreading

tore out all of the old crap today. and cut out the leaf spring mounts where needed. hardest part was getting the trailer high enough off the ground. got the front sitting ont top of three wheels/tires

working on the bedside today. coming along ok. i'll need to pull the entire bedside at some point to atually fix it, but what i'm doing today should get it looking "ok" again.

    Thanks man :)

Sorry to see the tree hit. You think if your sliders were longer it may have helped? Seems everyone makes sliders for our trucks way to short.
