2012 Exhaust Crossover

So I was at the dealership today getting some oil filters (they were on sale) when I saw a 2012 Tacoma on the show room floor. It came with a dealer installed 2.5" spacer and block lift for only $950. I was looking under the truck and it seemed to me the exhaust crossover and the cross member are different on the 2012. The truck did not have the low hanging exhaust crossover. I am adding pictures of my truck with the Allpro transfer case skid plate. This hangs about 3 inches lower than the rest of the truck I hate it.

Does anyone with a 2012 care to post pictures of their truck's exhaust cossover?

 

Ya i really hate how it hangs down so low. I can post you a pic of my 09 xover that's all bent out of shape from dragging on crap

It would be awesome if they fixed this for '12. If it is indeed rerouted i wonder if it's compatible with the pre '12s

 

Guys, if you want it re-routed, just pay a muffler shop a hundred bucks or so to re-route it.



Why does Toyota route it like they do stock? Because it's cheaper for them to produce and 99.9% of owners will never care.

If you can weld and bend tube and have a sawzall (or fuck, even a hacksaw), yes, easily.

 

ill try to get back with pics but the 2012 hangs just as low.. i have two dents on mine form off roading already and it pisses me off becasue i was gonna by the allpro skid but never got around to it... should have in the first place like planned.

I had an exhaust guy look at mine to re-rout it, said it would void the warrenty? Is that right?

 

My wife was spotting me going over some rocks and she halted me saying the bottim of the truck was hitting rocks. I go out and looked and the ALL-PRO transfer was on a rock. I told her that was OK and that it was the skid plate she helped me install and it was its job to do what it was doing (take a hit). Heard alot of bad things about ALL-PRO but the plate did its job. This was not a hard hit but still. I will say the ALL-PRO transfer skid had to be modified to fit to my 2011. I remember reading Toyota redisgned the crossover the skid attaches to, around the year my truck was made. I do not think ALL-PRO has updated or has two designs for this skid.

 

Hey mike, used to live in Gilbert. Loved it, the rest of the family hated the heat.

Anyway, I measured the crossover and it's the same height off the ground as everything else on the undercarriage from front to back. Sure looks lower, but it isn't.

I just ordered an Allpro IFS skid, maybe I'll order the transfer skid that protects the crossover. But $299 seems a little steep seeings how if I hit a rock with the IFS skid I'll probably just back up and try another line anyway.
