I would like some sdvice on parts for my stripped lower AR build...
This is what I have planned out so far for my build:

    =Noveske Chainsaw Grade N4 stripped lower (Gen2)

=RRA Lower Receiver Parts Kit w/ NM Two Stage Trigger .:Edit:. Possibly Geissele trigger.

=Vltor EMOD MilSpec, complete stock assembly

    =Bullet Button

What am I missing for the lower? What parts should I change? am I g2g?

Edit: Purpose would be HD, plinking at the range, def. some run and gun, potential SHTF rifle. I want this to be a fairly high end build with high quality, high value parts. Think of pretentious on a budget. I am also building this over the period of 6 to 9 months. Slow, methodical, quality.

I really love my two stage geissele trigger, in fact I just took my gun out today with the new barrel on it. And it shoots like a dream

I have the RRA 2 stage and it is definitely a upgrade from stock, but if you have the money go for the Geissele

Yeah, if you're okay with dropping an extra ~$200 more, RRA makes a lower parts kid that excludes the trigger assembly for $55. If you go that route, I'd definitely recommend the Geissele Super 3 Gun trigger if you want a single stage. They typically go for $240

All those same rumors about this and that company starting to make it, steel cased ammo coming, etc. have been around for years.

It's a good round, but don't expect to see anyone innovating or wasting many resources on it from the manufacturing side.

Interesting how the rumors are showing on their websites (tula) and there are actually advertisements in ar magazines by their parent companies stating their coming. Why spend money on ads if you don't really plan on doing it?

I'll believe it when it shows up in stores, and actually has an impact on pricing. I don't care if the pope starts making 6.8 ammo, if it doesn't offer something that isn't already available (better performance, or lower cost) then who cares?

I like the cartridge, but it's dead in the water. Especially now that all the "I can't hit shit so I want a bigger bullet" folks have moved on to the 300 WTF.

Got my 15-22. Only had time to put 60rnds through it. 1 FTE or stovepipe or whatever you call it. Happened with a CCI Sub-Sonic. (trying to be kind to the neighbors, but it turned out no one even heard the 10 MiniMags)

Yeah the ballistics if the 300 don't even come close to comparing to the 6.8. Read the data not silvers diatribe. I do agree with you on the ammo thing though if it doesn't effect price then that rifle is still a great hunting rifle and not a daily shooter like the 5.56. As for better performance I sure don't know how much more performance you want?

Dead in the water lol that's funny.

I love the 15-22, never had 1 FTF in probably 10,000rds. The owners manual says not to run subsonic or they will fail to cycle properly. Check out the smith&wesson forums, lots of good info. I run WallyWorld ammo and bulk from gunshows and never had an issue.

Alright guys I need help on a bipod and I know I want a harris with the swivel, its the length I'm having issues with. 6-9 is nice for the bench but when I take it turkey hunting here in a few weeks I might be stuck looking through grass. Wish they made a 8-12....

Trajectories for subsonic loads are similar to 22lr. Out past 100 yds every yard counts. Supersonic rounds are similar to 7.62x39mm. Not too bad out to 250 or so. Not nearly as flat as 223 but not as crazy as you might imagine. Definitely a short to intermediate round but lots of fun with a can.

Funny enough they ran a side by side comparison (it was pretty cheesy admittedly) on tac tv of the 5.56, 7.62 and 300bo. Check it out if you can pull it up on the Interwebs machine. The 300 definitely did the best on the pig meat but they didn't say distance and it was a hunting round where the other two weren't. At 15 yards they shot cinder blocks and the 300 was the only one not to penetrate both front and back. I still think its a phenomenal platform for what it was designed for, CQB which also makes it a good bush gun for pig or deer. I still hold that its not in the same boat as the 6.8 and i know a few people who own both and seriously love both but say the same thing. Id own one if i could have a suppressor as that is they due shine in that forum. Even the guys on the show said on that show not past 150 at most due to drop. We all know that a good shooter isn't worried about a few inches of drop just know your holds. So again that was cheesy as the 100 yard zero had about a 3" drop at 200. What we need is true chrono results and bullet bc. Not silvers inflated data.

A large part of the reason the 300 is more popular is the magazine issue. Magazines are the other problem that plagues the 6.8 outside the enthusiast/hunting market (and why it remains popular in the hunting market is beyond me when a .308 model 70 is better and cheaper). Crap-products is exactly that, and I'll never buy something that makes me a slave to that idiot. It's the same reason I never bought a 5.45 AR, even though I could have paid off the upper in a year with the ammo savings.

Most of these caliber concerns for most of the market are the same as people chasing pistons, triggers, whatever... Folks looking to solve software problems with hardware or looking to spend more money on their man-Barbie. Just like all the Taco owners that get a lift and mud tires and never leave the pavement.

Eta, my latest new hotness... Or maybe old hotness... Or new busted...

I can post my chrono results with a couple factory loads and a couple hand loads if anyone is interested, but it wouldn't be directly applicable to an AR thread since m 300 BLK is a 16" bolt gun.
