well you saw how good the terra grapplers do. :D i think i have about 5k on them have not rotated yet, and i’m kinda an aggressive driver. had had them screeching like all the way down the dragon.:rolleyes: and you can’t see much wear at all. also i never needed 4wd, i did use it 2 times just to use it really. but on all the hills with loose rock and rock climbs i never used it.
trail grappler is a bada$$ tire imho. but it’s a bit pricey and i could not find them in a 265/75R16, also will get worse MPG than an A/T
i don’t think i saw any loss in MPG because of the tires, my driving on the other hand... idk if you can get an A/T and get 70k or 80k out of them. but idk. also the bfg all terrain is a good tire, good road manners and dose good at royal blue, friends FJ has them. M/T or hybrid coast more and since most your driving right now is road so just get a good A/T.

I forgot he was looking for a 265-75/R16 so if Nitto Trail Grapplers dont come in that size, thats a bummer. Its a sick ass tire and yeah its a litte pricey-er* than others but compared to the BFG A/T its around the same, although the Nitto's look better imho.

The Trail grapplers shouldnt get than much of a reduction in MPG at the size hes looking for. I could see it if they were bigger but not for that size. Thats barely bigger than my Coopers and my MPG stayed the same if it didnt get better. Im getting around 19-22 depending on how I drive it lol.

If youre doing mostly On-road and looking for something to look good and get good wear/mileage imo Id go with the Cooper Discoverer A/T3. While its not the best looking A/T in terms of sidebite and overall aggressiveness it wears well and has good traction for road and semi offroad ( took mine in some gravel the other day and they did fine )

look at the BFG all terrain, not the rugged trails, but the all terrain. it’s a good on and off road A/T

That's because u and zach dont do any real wheeling. If u r in 2wd on bald tires and u r doin fine offroad, u need to reevaluate what offroading is! 2wd with a locker can get u through some things but 4wd is a must. If this is how yall wheel then I can't wait for LBL to give yall some leassons on how to offroad ur trucks properly, which they r very capable of doing.

And Cory as for tires, I can only give insight to what I know and that is offroad tires. Tires, imo, are the single most important thing u can do to ur truck to improve onroad or offroad performance. The best all around tire I have ever owned are BFG KM2s. Very good at what they r made for: very good in mud and very strong side walls ( I ran mine at 11 psi all weekend traveling over gravel roads, rock bed creeks, forest beds, and on road. Not once had a problem and they aired up fine and I drove 200 miles back home on them with no tire wobble or steering wandering.) They aren't too loud on the highway. I offroad at least a few times a month and have put 30k on them and still have at least half the tread left.

well other than windrock/coal creek, their is only one place thats close. we just went on 2 trails, their is 100’s of miles of trails that the trucks can go down. but i would not go down some with out lift and at least sliders and a front bumper. maybe this week i’m going to try and find out how to get to one spot. i have been with the atv’s but the one trail is to small for cory’s truck to even go down half of it is about 60” wide. their is another way to get to the spot i want to, but idk how to go other way yet. but i have an idea.

edit: we just working with what we got as far as easy trails go...

yeah, i know i don't do any real wheeling. i kinda wish i did, but i don't wanna do too much without at least sliders. most of what we do now is trail riding, which is fun and i can do (and did) on my really worn tires. i'm actually really looking forward to LBL, because it will honestly be my first chance to do something more than trail riding and puddle splashing. i'm not sure how well i iterated m=y point, but i'm only getting new ones because i got a flat, not because i think i need new tires. (which i've been told i do several times).

Good thing about having an old, beat up truck, is that I'm not too afraid to beat it up a little more :p
