Well that's obvious.. If they are charging you for it by the pound it's clearly not accurate.

Just got off the phone with Icon.

They asked me to ship them the coilover(what's left of it), and told me they'd repair/rebuild it. Told me to send the other one as well, and they'd rebuild that one while they were at it.

Also, they're sending me a tie rid assembly- inner and outer.

I won't be up and running by the meet, but I'll be (off)road worthy in a few weeks!

Already ordered a ton of stuff from rock auto, including (but not even close to limited to) TREs

    I hope so too.

The guy told me the engineers disagreed with my assessment that the shock breakage cause the TRE damage, an upon further inspection, I have to agree. If you remember, the TRE was bent TOWARDS the shock- almost suggesting that if anything, the TRE failed, and that broke the shock...

Either way, they promised to take care of me, which is admirable.

They suggested that I'd have to cover hopping to them, but they'd cover the rest

Not too shabby, I think shipping cost me around $70-80 when I sent mine to be rebuilt. Still a lot less then replacing, and you'll have freshly rebuilt ones.

Usually it's me derping the herp, but not today lol

Woot! Hopefully they don't find during inspection you abused them then refuse to cover them.

lolz......so you towed a trailer capable of carrying 3 tons in your Taco with 3 tons on top of it. You do know a typical trailer able to do this task and not be maxed out would weigh approx 2,500#?

So you were towing over 8,500# in a truck rated for 5,500# max.

    Hmmmm......................

Delivery cost < new clutch

I actually believe he towed 8,500# SEVEN times so he could save a measily $336. Just remember that $336 does not include wear and tear on the truck or gas and labor.....we will get back to that later.

He stated delivered stone was $24 per ton at 21 tons = $504.00
Picked up was $8 per ton at 21 tons = $168.00

So when you factor in approx 7hrs time @ 20 per hr it's $140.

Say another $50 for gas even though with a overloaded truck it's probably more like $100.

And that leaves you $146 dollars saved by towing 160% of what his truck is rated for...

Factor in wear and tear and as usual Eddie spent more money trying to be frugal then just get it done right the first time

Sorry Eddie but your fucking funny dude. I do construction management for a living so next time PM me....even though I told you repeatedly to GET IT DELIVERED.

that right there...made my decision to buy some icons eventually...great customer service and they stand by their product what more could you ask for when dropping thousands on suspension parts

A shock that doesn't break or blow up or have defective top hat's :notsure:

Never see any Kings break, but I have seen more then a handful of Icon's blow up at various places and various models. I thank my lucky stars I got Kings every time I see another Icon fail.
