I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I'm still gonna be lockerless on that trip though. I hate that my locker purchase has to be at the same time as armor.

Why does it have to be at the same time?

Armor by itself isn't going to get me anywhere I can't get to know. A locker will. I'm going to play on a lot more rocks once i'm locked, and therefore will need armor. Besides my axles, my lowest hanging objects are plastic gas tank, transfer case, and then rocker panels. I've got to at least get an xfer case skid and sliders.

Smart man. I was really glad I did sliders and skids when I did my lift and tires. They've paid for themselves on several occasions.

I went out with a buddy and hit the TNF Oakmulgee fire roads last weekend. Not much out there, pretty lame wheeling. All the gates were closed, but there were a couple of neat spots. It was pouring rain most of the time too, which made it interesting. Found out apparently they start opening the gates in November, and start closing them in April, so the time to go is in May.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80xmL3iYjqY

This was the easy line on the right that he went up, the left side was a lot steeper. He still had to lock up F+R to make it though because of the mud. Coming down the left I locked up the brakes at all 4 corners and slid the last 5' or so. It was a little sketchy. Going up it required the locker and 4lo, but there was no drama at all, just motored right on up.

That was about the only even remotely interesting thing we found, other than a grave site from the late 1800 - early 1900's. That was kinda cool.

Let's plan the first Taco Tuesday on September 25th. Location is at Shelby's in Pelham from 6-till. $2.00 chicken, steak, and fish taco's and $3 draft pints are on special. Spread the word and lets try to see how many people are interested in doing this a few times a month.

    Shelby's address and info:
    9340 Helena Rd
    Ste I
    Pelham, AL 35244
    (205) 403-4071

What kind of trails are these? My truck is stock with crappy tires, I do have a rear locker, though.
