Yeah, about that. Certainly not enough, my last drivetrain in the truck was making over 400 @ the wheels with a 2.4L engine (2RZ) pushing 23psi of boost through a GT3076R turbocharger.
However I started with about 120hp, now I am starting from 300 and going up from there (shooting for at least 600hp@ the wheels, my Camaro makes 623hp, I would like to top that if possible, and I know it is so its gonna happen.

Such a nice rig, hard to find with that divorced X-fer case. I totally did up a couple 250's back in the day. A '73 with a 390 and a '77 with a 460. Both had the C-6 bombproof trannies an Dana 60/44's. Bad ass old rigs. Would love to do a diesel swap on one

The way I understood the smog rules were Diesels dont have to get smogged and engine swaps as long as the engine was from a newer vehicle you were good... ? :notsure:

That's true but I'm sure they'd frown on swapping a catted gas motor for an uncorked diesel. They won't even let you register a dirtbike for the highway anymore.

I don't think they allow a diesel swap ever, regardless of year. I gotta say there are times I miss my super booty, with the 10 vein turbo on a straight pipe whinin like a cheap whore. Pull up next to a Prius with the window down at a red light, kick up the low boost fueling, load that bitch up then hammer it at the green light on level 5 on the attitude programmer. Black out the whole intersection, good times
