    It's really not that big of a deal.
    10 minutes with a grinder and your favorite Ford tool and most of the problem will be solved.

    Were those 4" BS or 4.5"? My old ones were 4.5" and they rubbed hard on the frame. I think 4" is the sweet spot for 285's

    The only 16x8 Mickey thompsons with 4" back space are 8-6.5 bolt pattern what does this mean?

    I know my truck is 6.5-5

    I think you mean 6 on 5.5? Do they make a 3.75 BS? That will also work.

    My 16X8's have 4.5" BS and 285's rub like crazy on the frame. Its manageable but very annoying when you make those tight turns. Especially if you have big lugs on your tires.

    Yea at 6 on 5.5 they have 3.625 and 4.5 back space options.

    For 8 on 5.5 they have a 4in back space option

    3.62 will work too but you'll be rubbing on the pinch weld and bumper probly

    Someone please correct me if I'm wrong: the 8-6.5 refers to how many lugs/studs the vehicle has. So an 8-6.5 bolt pattern would be for a truck that requires 8 lug nuts

    Some different companys make 16x8 w/4.00 BS. The less backspacing the less rubbing on frame or control arm. Eagle alloys, pro comp, and you should be able to get the mickeys also. Yes there are 8 lugs with the 2 widest ones straight across from one another are on 6.5" hole centers.

    None. When my Dtr was born we looked all over and found nothing. I rigged a 'lift' for her in the middle of the access area but the seat still tilted forward. Eventually I just made the wife ride in the back and the kid got the front seat. That created its own problems that we won't discuss here.

    This haha

    I disagree. 3.75 is the best IMO. no rubbing on frame like with 4" and not a ton of rubbing on the pinch weld

    You disagree because you have 33x12.50s. I would run less backspacing on that tire too. But to the original question, dude wants to run 285's.

    I stand by my previous statement.

    285 = 11.2" < 12.5"
