3" exhaust

got a sweet deal on a 3" exhaust cat back system what are the pros and cons of a 3" system on our trucks/

 

what about back pressure?

Big exhaust will cause loss of SCAVENGING not backpressure as most people are led to believe.

You will lose some low end power, you might pick up a tiny bit on top. Not really good on a daily driver unless you rev the shit out of it.

 

I have the urd 3 in catback and its not that much loss in low end.

 

which cat back did you buy? how does it sound and any drone? what was the special price and from who?

 

There is a point where a larger size hurts instead of helps. Hot air flows faster, and with a larger pipe, it won't stay hot down the legnth of exhaust. Cooler exhaust=less scavenging(vaccum pulled on one cylinder, caused by previous exhaust pulse)

Our engines are tuned for a stock exhaust and intake.
