So i live in CT but im up in vermont a few times a year, mainly for snowboarding but i head up there every october with the girlfriend just to get away for the weekend, ill be renting a place in killington and visiting friends in burlington. So my question is where can i get a good atlas that shows class 4 roads. Or does anyone know of any mild offroading trails in that area. I am usually able to find some cool stuff just exploring and using a gps or google maps but it would be cool if some locals could point me in the right direction. I was hoping to be lifted and get some 33s on my truck before i go up but its looking like im still ganna be stock so im not looking for any crazy trails. By the way i graduated from vermont tech in 07 so you can consider me a partial vermonter, not just some leaf gazing flatlander ;)

The Mt. Cushman road is pretty rugged. I'm not sure it is even passable anymore though, it's been years since I've been up that way.

Last time i was up here i checked out mt. Cushman road but it was closed because of irene. Maybe ill check it out again. Right now im ganna head north and zigzag through green mountain national forest on rt.73 and rt.125 and look for some trails or service roads

^scratch that, i might head up north tomorrow. I went down to ludlow and went up reading pond rd. and ended up somewhere near plymouth on rt 100a. I was pretty stock friendly, but one section was a little sketchy and i definitely tested my limits.

I havnt headed up there yet but i probaby will be tomorrow. I was looking for some maps like you suggested and found this link http://www.aot.state.vt.us/planning/mapgis/town_maps1.htm
Its pretty awesome, just pick a town and it shows all the trails and class 4 roads. I was on one today in between ludlow and plymouth marked "unused or impassable"
