Improve the front seat comfort ...

... for the Tacoma!

It has been a while now since I first complained about the lack of seat comfort (buckets) in the 2nd gen Tacoma. My wife has recently purchased a Murano ... wish that my Taco seats were designed the same way as the Murano seats! Yeah, I know ... the Murano is more like a car, and a Taco is supposed to feel like a truck ... but does that mean that the Taco has to put your legs to sleep after 2 hours of highway driving?

Any new thoughts regarding this topic?

Has anybody come up with a modification that works?

 

what seats do you have? the trd or sr5? i love my trd ones.

I would look into trying to pick up some trd seats from a wreked tacoma trd. They are plenty comfortable. Only thing is, i dont know how they would match your interior

I think that the TRD seat bottoms are a bit longer than the sr5 bottoms ... but I have sat in the TRD seats ... doesn't seem to make much difference for my butt!

Have considered that in the past. I have seat covers, so exact color and pattern is not important. However, I would like to consider other options first!

 

My truck was bought in Canada. We have two options here ... SR5 or TRD. I have the SR5 package.

I have thought about this too! Does Corbeau provide the frame/rails to fit the Tacoma?

 

Those look more harsh than the stock seats. ^^^^^^^

 

I do not know if this will help but I bought Wet Okole seat covers for my access cab and they seemed to lift the seat and so much moe comfortable but I do not drive that much but did take a 2 hour ride and when I used to go with my buddy camping in his 99 Taco I used to be cramped up but last time I drove my truck and I was not at all stiff. Hope this helps plus I think if you do not have a lumbar support on your seat Wet Okole seat covers can come with one installed.

 

But the Corbeaus are awesome. In the end isn't that all that matters?

 

Will consider this! My seat covers (not Okole) have not made much difference. Has anybody else found that the Okole improves comfort?

 

hmm...I have non TRD seats and mine are very comfortable and are quite soft. My fiance' loves them and always falls asleep when riding shotgun. Now the seats in my RX-8 were another story...she hated those things.

 

I think the TRD seats are decent. TBH they're more comfortable than the black leather seats with heat my G35 coupe had. Though, sport seats vs these isn't much of a comparison lol. Most comfy seats I've used was in the Infiniti M35, second was actually my stealth TT of all things lol...

I'd try the TRD's... if nothing else just hit up a dealer and sit in one a bit to see if there's a noticable diff...

 

I like my TRD seats much better than the 03 IS300 I had. Mainly because the TRDs have adjustable lumbar and I can crank em all the way up... Damn lower back problems

 

I really didn't like the seats in the Murano. I felt they were too flat and let my ass slide all around the place. Not enough support.
I much prefer my TRD seats.

 

Yes, quite a bit to me & I have base model buckets & no lumbar in the Wet Okoles.
