 Welcome to the crowd...you've got quite the list of allergies too!
Mine seem to be limited to gluten, sunflower seeds and blue cheese (i think because of the mold in it)

Try the Orgran brand. I've had the cornbread and its pretty good. They have an "egg replacer" product too...sounds a little scary to me but you don't have much choice!

    http://www.orgran.com/products/169/

I will have to try the premade polenta now. I tried making some on my own and it just didn't taste right.
There's an Italian restaurant here that makes their own....I think I could eat a whole batch of it! So yummy.

Heven't tried that one yet, I will have to look for it
Welcome! Sounds like you've got things under control...its so easy to stick to this when you're cooking for yourself but you're right about others not understanding. 3 years and I'm still trying to get my family and friends to understand what I can and can't have. Eating out sucks anymore because 90% of the menu is off limits and BBQ's and parties are tough to attend...I usually end up bringing my own food most of the time

 Play nice Tink or you'll have to go to time out

    Yummy! Turned out perfect.

Need a gluten free bread mix for bread machines. Can't use potato or tapioca starch. Any ideas Lisa?

I tried twice to made GF bread in a machine...both were failures :( I buy Udi's bread or I make focaccia (the only bread recipe that I've used that actually turns out decent tasting) but it has potato starch and tapioca in it.

    I have the hose-clamp tailgate lock :-) best $3.14 I've ever spent
My Dad is on the Gluten Free Diet, I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it on a previous page but Angry Orchard Hard Cider is a good substitute for beer. It's definitely a different taste, but the Alc. Content makes up for that :)

Just found this thread. I'm Celiac too and have been gluten free since the docs figured this out in 2004.

I'll have to go back over the thread to see if I can add to the list of products that are out there. One thing's for sure, the popularity of the GF diet has made it much easier to find GF products than it used to be.

As for bread, a friend told me about the Zojirushi model BBCC-V20 bread maker, which is completely configurable. I have the Bob's Red Mill Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix down to a science, and it comes out great every time. I freeze most of the loaf and make toast with it for sandwiches.

The settings for the Zojirushi are:
    WARM- 10 minutes
    KNEAD - 18 minutes
    RISE 1 - OFF
    RISE 2 - OFF
    RISE 3 - 55 minutes
    BAKE - 55 minutes
    WARM - OFF

    Great thread!

    My name's not Lisa but....
I will look at the stuff I have when I get home. I know it doesn't have potato but it might have tapioca... maybe.

As for my favorite GF products, in no particular order they are:

-Tinkyada brown rice spirals pasta (think rotini) and spaghetti noodles
-Glutino sandwich cookies (I swear these are Oreos)
    -SanJ Soy Sauce
-Bob's Red Mill Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix (see mention of Zojirushi in my earlier post)
-Bob's Red Mill GF All-Purpose Flour
    -Chex cereals
-Kinnikinnick Panko Style Bread Crumbs, Graham Crackers, and cinnamon sugar donuts
-Maxwell's Kitchen pork gravy mix (you will throw away the Road's End Organic stuff once you taste this)
    -Glutenfreeda's Ice Cream Cookie sandwich
-Van's GF Apple Cinnamon Waffles (toasted in my dedicated GF toaster)

I've seen the Angry Orchard stuff but haven't been tempted to try it...does it taste like the Mike's Hard Lemonade type of stuff?

 We've certainly had a surge of new people in this thread lately!
It is great about popularity = more availability. The area I'm in has a decent selection of products, even some restaurants are offering gluten free dishes now!

You're not cool enough to be :angrygirl:

I love Tinkyada...almost don't miss real pasta anymore. And Kinnikinnik Smore-ables!!! They saved my camping trips these last 2 summers! I'll keep an eye out for the gravy mix, is there a beef variety?

Maxwell's Kitchen Brown Gravy mix is their beef-flavored version. They also have chicken and turkey but I haven't tried those. Our local grocer only carries the pork, so we order from here: http://www.maxwellskitchen.com/

Packages have about a 2-year lifespan so we can order enough to make shipping costs worth it...

No, think of carbonated apple juice. You can also get all sorts of ciders, pear, mixed barry, around this time of year you can even get pumpkin cider. I tried a few gluten free beers and none were that good, so now I just drink cider.

Stongbow also makes a good cider. There are a bunch of brands out there, some are better than others

If it can't move fast enough it gets eaten. Heard good things regarding the GF diet for most people though. Good luck with it.

Some Gluten-Free beers I've tried and my thoughts on each:

Redbridge - brewed by Anheuser-Busch (budweiser), slightly sweet but not bad if served COLD.

New Grist - tastes a bit like a belgian beer, not bad, overall a "meh"

Bard's - unique, horrible flavor - like Dr. Pepper mixed with rubbing alcohol. Avoid.

Green's - UK brewery, not cheap or especially good beer. 3 varieties available, however.

St. Peter's Sorgham Beer - Pricey but decent - bitter and dry. I've had too many bad bottles (crazy carbonation) to continue buying it. Bummer.

New Planet - good, drinkable beers - 3 of them. The Off-Grid pale ale tastes like an IPA. Recommended for sure.

    and the Winner....

Omission - brewed by Widmer, tastes like real beer, by FAR the best GF beer I've had to date. The 2 flavors are equally great.

Ordered Dominos Gluten free pizza tonight instead of making it ourselves... was actually pretty damn good. Won't do it often, but was a nice change :)

    Hey Delmarva!

I do have one bread recipe that avoids tapioca and potato. I haven't tried it, but it was published in the Providence Journal. Might be worth a shot!

Brown and White Bread for Bread Machine

    2-1/4 cups white rice flour
    1 cup brown rice flour
2-1/4 teaspoons dry yeast (1 package)
4-1/2 teaspoons xanthan gum (less if you don't mind crumbly bread)
    1-1/2 teaspoons salt
    1/2 cup dry milk powder
    3 tablespoons sugar
    3 eggs
1/4 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
    1-2/3 cups water
    1 teaspoon cider vinegar

Bring all ingredients to room temperature. In a large bowl, combine all the dry ingredients well. In another bowl, beat all wet ingredients together. Place in a bakery pan according to the instructions for your machine.
