Hi, thanks for reading. Long time listener, first time caller. Been wanting a Tacoma for about 10 yrs now and I'm getting ready to pull the trigger. I've been coming to this site for quite a while now - learning tons and enjoying the posts. I'm not a 'truck guy' (yet!) and don't know heaps about mechanics (again, yet!) so I need a little help.

I live in Ontario. Prices for Tacoma's are pretty expensive. I'm looking at a
'10 TRD Sport double cab, one owner, Toyota certified with one year warranty or 20,000kms, 112, 000 kms on it (that's 69, 500 miles approx for you yanks!) - buddy who owned it drove 100km to/from work each day in the country, comes with snow tires on rims, tonneau cover. Dealership is asking $21k for it. Too much or is that a good price?

From searching in ON it sounds about right. Thoughts?

    Thanks again for reading!

    Cheers

That's a good price man especially with the extra tires included. I'd act quick if you want it, a fairly priced Tacoma will sell fast.

69k "yank" miles on a Taco is nothing at all. Both my parents are over 160k. Neither have ever had any major issues at all. Just normal wear and tear.

I would shop around more if you can...although I haven't seen the truck in question, I know there are some really good deals if you look south of the border...not a big deal importing a truck nowadays-everyone is doing it. There are even companies who will take care of everything for a reasonable fee...and there are TONS of threads on how to do this yourself.
I know I shopped for 6 months for my truck, and I chose one that I knew was very well looked after... I certainly wouldn't pay their asking price if you are set on that one...talk em' down!

I agree 100%. Shop around and avoid purchasing the first truck that comes around. If your'e going to purchase a truck south of the border, buy one that hasn't been on winter salted roads. They're plenty of used trucks for sale. You can hire a company to pick it up and deliver. Good luck. Tacomas are great trucks.

Unbeatable price for a 2010 TRD in Canada.

I would jump on that in a heartbeat.

Here in BC, it seems any truck from 09-11 that is a TRD quad cab is right around $30,000!

Its crazy when a brand new sr5 is only $31,000.

Yep, have been searching heaps. Almost bought an '09, seriously considered new(can't afford it now). Been talking to dealerships all over the province. I know it's a Tacoma, but I'm still worried about the mileage. Will be selling an '08 Subaru Legacy Wagon with about the same kms on it, which is paid off, and take on a loan for. Should get between 9-10k for the car, but half will be used to pay off our second car. Decisions, decisions.

    Shooting you a PM Tom.

285/75/16 Bfg All Terrains, add a leaf in the rear, bilstein 5100's all the way around and someone built different upper arms before i bought it.
Honestly i would keep looking, if you do its about 50/50 that u will find something better or u wont. I just bought a 2011 Ext cab pre runner edition with 6,400 miles on it and a 6 year/100,000 mile warranty for 22k

I'd be shocked if you could find a 2010 with those features and upgrades for less than 21k. Also you say the truck belonged to your best friend so it comes with the peace of mind that you know exactly how it's been treated. I think you'll be kicking yourself somewhere down the line if you don't at least make an offer on that truck.

Sounds like a hell of a good deal for being up there in Canada. That is pretty comparable to US prices
