To add to that, on a smooth body you might need to go down to 10's on compression if you have a lighter truck, but should be close

 

Inside my shocks it says 10/12 ..does that mean I have 10 compression? Or did they sure it backwards

 

That's really MerconIV type trans fluid labeled as power steering fluid...tons of peeps use trans fluid as shock oil

 

I think I might do that then ...kragen is only a few minutes from me

just spend the extra 5-10 bucks and just get what is made to be in your shock! yes atf works in a pinch on lowbudget dr street rigs. but if your worried the slightest about performance id just stick with the king or fox oil. different oils have different lubrication and detergents and the most important thing is how much the oil expands when heated, this changes drastically with off the shelf not to spec oils.
just order it from PP and used ttora to get 10% off. short cutting anything in this sport will not get you very valuable results
