I am so pissed I missed this whole thread. I was up camping at my cabin and would have loved to come! AHH stupid computer. Couldnt access the internet for some reason. Hey calling all Computer peeps. a little help?
I had to borrow my sisters computer to log in this time.
K so anyone still doing something for the 20th? I am still throwing out my cabin idea. Not really a rough drive but can be some fun. Mostly just to hang out and camp.

    Thoughts?

I'm planning on the 20th. Not exactly sure what to do yet. I'm not sure about camping, as I do snore pretty good. Dont have to worry about bears sneaking up though.

I dont think there are many campers in this group, as most of the time when suggested, there really doesn't seem to be much interest or turn out. Personally, I love camping. As long as its good weather, I'm perfectly happy airing up a mattress in the bed and throwing out a bag.

I'm not sure I count cabins as camping though. :p Isn't that closer to sleeping over? I guess cabins can vary from a single room log cabin to full sized houses. Kinda old school that way, I guess.

Computer problems always suck. Let us know the problem its having and I'm sure it can be figured out.

You really didn't miss much today. First we took the wrong trail (not a big deal, as its always fun to explore), then about half way up the right trail we had to turn back due to a truck having issues.

No one has to actually "camp" especially if you snore!
Just a day ride, hang out a bit. Maybe cook lunch over a fire and head back down?
Its not a huge deal. Just throwing out ideas for the 20th! Cuz I wont be missing that one.

I might be down, homework depending. Oh, and it might be easier for you to just text my brother about your computer.

I'm always up for something like that. Best of all, we can do that on pretty much any trail, as they always seem to have a nice opening at the top. The fire would also be nice, considering its starting to get pretty cool in the canyons. Worst case is we have to contain the fire in some type of portable fire pit.

Are there any trails that you want to hit before places start closing up for the winter?

Well, realistically, we only have one canyon run left this year before the canyons are closed down for the winter. Well, guess there's the 27th as well, but I'm working then, so this is my last canyon run.

Personally, Forest Lake has always been one of my favorite trails. It should be pretty interesting up there now that its been raining. There might even be snow at the lake.

But, we also haven't done Butterfield/Middle, which will also be closing at the end of the month. It wont be much of a challenge, but is quite the unique view. There is a side trail up there that I've never done.

We should avoid 5 mile pass, as that will soon be the only place open and we'll have lots of chances to visit there during the winter months.

If I were to be the one to decide, I'd lean towards Forest Lake myself, but I am biased.

forest lake is not too bad, id say its mineral basin JR. its alot shorter then basin and less challenging, but its still a fun trail, ill be down to do basin again, it might be a little more of a challenge with all the rain and water that's been coming down lately, we could do both :) as for it to be the last trail run of the year up in the canyon. for me its not worth going up there and being done with a trail that only took 1 hour and head home, im alot closer to AFC almost everybody lives up north and travels almost alot more getting to AFC then riding AFC. if we go up again and do forest lake i would really want to hit another trail just to be up there a little bit more then 1 hour or 2.

Last weekends meet was fun but it ended early and i still had a lot of juice to hit some other trails, we also had to come back a little early due to a Ford breaking down on us "/.

So for me if the next meet is the last lets make it worth it with doing 2 trails :) forest lake and whatever else you guys want to do. ill be down to do mineral basin for a nice hard challenge >=) or something else less challenging would be good aswell.

And when the trails close for the year we could cruse up to Nats cabin and chill and hit some other easy trails, or whatevers open.
