My buddy who had the extended cab white Raptor who thought he wanted a Tacoma got this instead:

    20121013120604_c79d5e9f6ad2fad35e4b775dde197ba4c613831d.jpg

He was so stoked to see they offered it in FDE that he decided to get a quad cab version to go with his white one. He kept the white one too for his beater/farm truck and this will be his fancy goin' into town truck. lol

I bet money he decides to trade the white Raptor in for a Tacoma still.

Excellent choice. Sister in law had one and traded it in on a new 4-Runner and regrets that she didn't keep it.

Sorry we had to jet early. Riley had a long day.

I don't know my brother loves his 6.2 quad cab raptor. He's starting to modd it up. I'm a fan of them for sure.

29k auto cvt transmission with paddle shifters. Thing is loaded Bluetooth, heated seats, heated mirrors.

I have not and have been drooling over them since they came out. I dream to own one some day. Ideally it's my next vehicle purchase.

No, he'll keep the new 6.2L quad cab in the picture. I mean he'll probably trade his white one which he got before the 6.2L was an option. He got the new one to scratch an itch but I have a feeling he'll still want a Tacoma too. He talked about getting a Tacoma but then the dealership got this new Raptor in so he got it.

Yeah the 5.7 left a lot to be desired. It just looke cool but felt like driving any other f150. That's why my brother waited for the new ones to come out.

I kept telling him to do the same but he wouldn't listen to me. Shortly after purchasing one of the first in the state he admitted he had wished he had waited a little bit longer. Oh well, he's a farmer so they buy trucks regularly and I think they have like a dozen in their fleet. He looked into supercharging it after going for a spin in mine and was bummed to find that a factory option like Toyota offers isn't available for the Raptor.

I thought about ordering a s/c for my 3.4 but decided against it cause its got 155k on it and im too cheap to run premium

I can understand the cost consideration but don't let premium gas scare you. It seems like a lot but you're talking about $2 difference per gas tank between regular and premium. When you're paying $50-$60 per tank and up it's pretty insignificant. Not really a huge deal even for a tight ass like me. :p

On the s/c topic, would it make a diff 2wd vs 4wd as far as power?

There is some parasitic drive-line loss w/4x4 as compared to an identical 2WD truck. Mostly if AWD or 4WD is enabled. Also, there is a weight difference too so if your comparing identical trucks the 2WD will be quicker for those reasons.

I forget what company makes it but there is a velociraptor kit for the 5.7 now to give it 512 hp with a super charger. I'd still rather have the 6.2.
I'm doing my runner next year and I have 170k on it.

Yeah it's really not that big of a difference. Especially for us with the 3.4 motor the gas tank is not very big at all.

I know but it's not Ford and he wants to maintain his factory warranty. In these terms, Toyota is pretty special.

For sure. Having factory is nice for warranty and what not. Plus the 6.2 is powerful enough for sure.
