Who the fuck r u buying $600 sliders from!!?? U and him and both idiots!!! If u wanna make ur own u will probably spend about $30 in metal, if that. Unless u pay to have piping bent, which will cost u a little more, u should only use about 10' - 12' of pipe or square tubing per side. Down here I can buy a 20' piece of 1 1/2” x .125 square tube for $12.

Well my grandfather knows how to use it and I'm heading over there in about 30 minutes so he can show me a little. He's gonna show me how to use the cutting tourch and can at least show me how to get the welder going, he's only mig welded twice. So we'll see how that goes haha.

Every company I look at wants $500 for them made and powder coated and then about $85 for shipping. And I haven't bought any yet.

And what all goes in to making skids? It's not just taking measurements and welding?

Check out brute force fab... Really good sliders and way cheaper than anyone else. Also I wouldn't get it powder coated if you plan on offloading it chips really easy. Gideon's way of painting turns out amazing. Spray on bed liner and then just spray paint over the bed liner what ever color you want. That way if it chips its easy to repair

And this is good advice! PC is strong but it is so pointless on sliders if u plan on using them. They will get scratched to hell and u will end up spray painting them anyway!! Levi speaking of chipping, I got a few small spots on my bumper that I touched up yesterday and the paint just blends right back in

I'll check them out and I'm definitely going to do the spray on bed liner. But who knows, I might make my own sliders. My grandfather is going to get some metal this week and we'll start working on the skids! :D

Jesus Christ crucify me! just not going to pass up some grandfather-grandson time. Don't know how much longer he'll be around. I didn't even know how to turn the thing on. But I tried that lower case cursive "e" you were talkin about and that seemed to do better than what I was doing. I'll have pictures up in a second.

We were really low on argon, that's why it's kinda turning a blueish-white to the side of the weld. All in all it was a good learning experience, going to continue more of it this week after we get that argon re-filled.

Kind look like a T, you take 2 pieces of flat bar and put one 90 degrees on the other... Best way I can explain it
