You're going to need to let us know what NM has for testing? Visual, sniffer, OBDII check, etc.

    What is Tested

The actual test assesses three elements on the vehicle:

    • Smoke puffing from the tailpipe or other areas of the auto.
    • The effectiveness of the catalytic converter, which is the essential module in controlling pollution.
    • A computerized gas analysis measured via the exhaust pipe while the vehicle is idling and at high speed.
Copied this off the DMV website. They hook up something to the OBDII and stick sometging in your exhaust. They also check your gas cap.

My opinion is that you shouldn't have a problem then. The CAI/MAF Cali should not affect the tailpipe emissions nor should it set a code. The CAI could fail a visual if there needs to be a CARB-like sticker proving certification, but I think that is only for CA. Do keep in mind though that if you disconnected the battery to install the CAI/MAF Cali that the ECU needs some miles and driving cycles to get itself out of the freshly-powered-on setting (I've forgotten the actual term for this) such that an emissions OBDII scan will be successful.
