It was rainy yesterday so we started reading up on some training. My last pup only knew sit, down, come around, paw and speak. I have more time now, so hopefully this new guy will know a whole lot more. Still debating names, and have to land on one before tomorrow for the vet visit.
Cooper (Coop) seems to be working.
Tried Tanqueray (Tank) but wasn't feeling it. Discussed Magnus, Monkey (we used to call the old dog Dakota that all the time) Cole, Guinness, Tucker.
Can't do Shadow, Bear, Timber or Wolf as they are all past/present family pet names. Whaddya guys think of Cooper for a purebred American field lab???
Any better suggestions? Nothing mythical, Irish (Shamus, Sean) or movie/comic book related.

I think he's gonna get the in-law's last name for his middle name for AKC reg.

And DAMN, I thought Cooper was gonna be fairly original. Buddy used to be the most popular male lab name.

I have 4 close friends with dogs named cooper. It's a good dog name. My labs name I would think is common Gunner aka thunder buddy, and my GSP remmington aka remmy.

    puppy! nice puppy! lol.

i’ll try and get new pic of our dogs today. they all kinda old, grayhound is like 13, yorkie is about idk 9?... and pug is 8 or so i guess.... none like to do much. pug use to like to go places. i kinda wish we had a dog that liked to go camping and stuff. also with small dogs you have to worry about hawks and coyotes more than you do with bigger dogs camping out doors.

out looks a lot like the one on the back, ours is about 16 lbs. has some hip problems, she had a surgery a few years ago. helped for a bit but right now she’s not much better than she was before. can’t jump up on the couch or the parents bed where she sleeps every night. lol. she use to go nuts if mom started the mower and she was not on it riding, lol. she would stand in front of the mower and not move out the way and mom would have to stop. if dad was mowing, we would put her in her crate because she would jump at the door trying to get out. and she snores like crazy!

We got pretty lucky with the hip issues so far...but "Bella" the one on top is only 3 and the black one is just around 13. She is getting pretty bad, can't make it up the stairs anymore or even the stairs onto the bed. and half the time she can't make it out back before she leaves me a present on the ground, but she has always been a really good and energetic dog. Now the white one "Snowflake" that is my baby, she is almost 2 and weighs almost 90lbs. She still has some learning to do but one of the best mannered dogs I have ever owned!!

yeah our pugs name is Blakely and is about 7 or 8. the hip thing started about 2 years ago i think, vet put her on bed rest and everything we put her in the crate and carried her out side and than feed her in her crate and everything. some times ours leave a present some where. Mom wants another when she dies. GL so far on yours hope she dose not have any problems! like i said ours use to be out side all the time when we did yard work and stuff, all 3 of the dogs wear out side. we had 2 lots in a neighborhood and the back was fenced in.
pug loved to ride on the atv with me when we did yard work or around the neighborhood, yeah i rode around the neighborhood with the atv. cops did not really care we never cased a problem and no one ever called on us. one time i was riding the pug around and an officer was just driving around i guess checking on stuff, stopped and asked something about how well she rode and liked it. (it’s been like 5 or6 years at least since that happened so i don’t remember exactly what he said) but never said anything about me being on the road with an atv or anything. neighborhood had about 95 houser or so i think so it was not like a really small neighborhood or anything, but it was almost at the county line, way out side of city limits.
