Didn't think you can pull trailers on the beach. I would be afraid of the trailer sinking in the the sand lol. I guess you would have to air down the tires on the trailer just like you would on the truck.

Sure you can pull trailers in the sand!
Just need to air truck and trailer tires down to around 12 psi and
    keep your forward momentum.......
And if you have never camped on the beach and seen the sunset
    on the Pacific Ocean...well.......sorry.

I didn't call it "camping" but I have woke up a couple times and enjoyed the view looking over the Pacific.

Pulling a 900lb trailer loaded with 760lb of my crap. On the highway, I could never seem to get above 70mph? And I would slow down going up hills even with full throttle? Is that just what comes with the "4 banger pulling 1660lb" territory or was I doing something wrong? Did I seem to not have much power because I was in 5th, and not 2nd or 3rd?

Pretty sure there is a sticker on that fender indicting not to go over 55... I wouldn't think you should be traveling over 70 with that set up.

That said on hills if you dot down shift o course the four banger is going to lose speed.

2580lbs total with both mine and Dad's motorcycles and gear in there, all with a 4 banger! ;) I do have another small aluminum utility trailer I use to haul the atv in now and then, but it is a super light trailer, I can move it around myself when it is empty. Don't hardly noticed it behind me at all when I tow it and the atv.

You need to downshift, 4 banger towing is going to be slow, I've towed 2580lbs across the country with mine and was doing good if I could cruise at 65 on a flat with absolutely no headwind whatsoever. Use that tranny and row the gears, you will figure it out.

I just bought a 2012 Kawasaki Teryx4 and the 6'-10" x 16" GatorMade Trailer a couple weeks ago. I finally got the trailer brake controller harness in, E-Track bolted to the trailer deck and took it all out to tryout the towing. The Tacoma seemed fine, but I might need to turn the Teryx4 around and have a little more weight on the tongue. It wasn't pulling the truck around, but I could occasionally here the tongue and ball smacking around , so I figured it might need a little more weight up front?
