got him on the 15th of sept. had his buddy in there with him too but couldnt get a shot on him. wasnt about to let both of them leave without trying to use a tag, he gave me a broadside shot at 20 yards and the arrow went right threw his heart. never knew what hit him. he ran maybe 20 more yards and fell over dead.

No pics from me. Hit a big 8 Saturday night and looked for 2 hours Saturday night and 2 hours tonight. No luck. Got lost for a couple hours Saturday too. Lost in the mountains at night is no fun.

you need find somebody that coon hunts with some dogs, most of em i know have atleast one dog that runs deer. take em in and try to trail it. sucks losin any animal you shoot. i lost a doe last year hit her perfect behind the shoulder with a 270, knocked chunks of bone out along with a major blood trail, then the blood stopped and i lost her in a riverbottom thicket. couldnt have gotten her out if i had found her but still. maybe you'll find him before the coyotes do

He was bleeding pretty bad. 4 or 5 puddles bigger than a softball. First spot I found was probably 8 inches across. I'm thinking I only hit 1 lung. Straight on 20 yards. Jakhammers make a big hole but apparently not big enough

sounds like a good shot, liver shots and gut shots are DARK blood, lungs almost always have white foam, or bubbles in the blood. muscle shots and arteries are the bright blood you see. you probably nicked an arterie in his vitals. ether way im willing to bet that deer is dead less than 200 yards from where you shot him.. now which was he went is a different story. check waterholes and hillslopes. every deer I've ever tracked has died on a hillslope where they can bed in the wind and watch below or died going to water. they say they try to get in water to stop the bleeding.. good luck man ill keep a lookout for a pic
