So I wrecked the retaining wire for the pins. Think it would be alright to just use steel hay wire? Im mean all it does is hold those two pins in

I don't see a problem with it, that wire is pretty flimsy anyway. I would just check it from time to time.

 

If it's just the little wire clips that hold the pins in you'll be alright, I'd just replace them with cotter pins when you get a chance.

Been reading up on SASing and axles. Lots of interesting info. I can't decide what I want to do with it. haha. Good thing I have time I guess. Ideally if I had the money I would just give my Taco to Wyatt or that guy in Oklahoma that competed in the UA and say have at it please. haha

Same here Brady, I am not going crazy like them. I still want the EXpo factor. And to keep my bed.

 

Not worth it. If you SAS. MIT as well go for real. SAS and expo don't really go super good together..why I'm going LT

 

I like the Idea of LT too but I have some ideas for an SAS EXpo taco. We will see I guess, who knows. Shit changes all the time.

 

Well the simple route would be to just come up with a toyota 8" for up front. I think d60's would be nice to have but they are go big or go home axles from what I read. A built toyota 8" can run like 38" tires without trouble so no point in losing the diff clearance with the d60's unless you go to a bigger tire than that. A rig that big isn't a very good DD although they can still be DD'ed and I'm not sure if I want to take the Taco to a point that it's not very driveable on pavement anytime soon.
