even with gas money cost..it was more economical to trade in your truck in get a NEW car? that was the better option?

granted, i am not a business major..but i have a hard time wrapping my head around this.

    Hello negativity....

You are comparing an apple to an orange, comparing an 08 to a which has received a body overhaul (though not a significantly major one). Who gives a hell if the cabin got smaller, I'm more then positive they get quieter, the Accord has always been a great vehicle produced by Honda and will always be a major player in the sedan segment.

And that's that I work for Toyota. :D

Did I miss the answer for how many years it'll be before any gas savings is realized based on purchase price vs. mpg difference? Didn't feel like reading whole thread. Car is nice but not 35g nice IMO. Sorry for the Taco loss............

I got rid of my '08 EX-L because mainly I realized a sedan isn't for me but it also was not that great of a car. The 9th gen is where it is at, though.

Already on dealer lots, so they must be japanese models. 8th gen models were manufactured in both Ohio and Japan so I assume the 9th gen is as well. I looked at one a few weeks ago.

Given the amount I drive, It was a good LONG TERM decision. When I traded the Tacoma, I got the Camry for basically an even trade...

    This...

Given that I got it at an even trade, it was about a week until I filled up and noticed the difference in my pocket. Then I missed the truck, and it all went down hill...Only lost about 2k on the whole flip...Ill take that any day...

Your uncle is probably expecting filet minon when the Accord is marketed toward a steak and beef sort of audience, if he wants to be more thoroughly impressed he oughta look at Acura TL.

You forget, $34,000 doesn't get you as much as you used to, especially in Kalifornia with the hyper inflated prices and all. The majority of that money is being sunk into options as well.

I would hardly compare a brand new 2013 accord to a 97 Civic, I agree maybe the QA isn't what it used to be, being that they build the majority of them here in America instead of Japan now, but the overall build quality of Accord vs. Civic has always been worlds better.

I used to work on them. I know. Just to give you an example, the 2001-2005 Honda Civics were notorious for blowing the head gaskets within 100k. The reason why was because the head bolts were not torqued down enough which was causing all kinds of strange problems. I have never seen the accords have such an issue before.
