Says a lot about the mindset of law enforcement. I know you need to keep your guard up at all times, but number one, if he wasn't acting suspicious there is no need to over react. Number two, if the cop took gun safety seriously, he would not point his muzzle at someone so quickly/easily if they weren't acting like a threat or threatening his life. In this state the cops already know if the person who the vehicle is registered to has a CCP because it is attached to our license plate.

had something to say about this...

i dont completely agree with you. i believe there is a bunch of repeat offenders is because people have messed up moral values and were not raised right. doing time doesnt make them a better person in most cases not all.

totally agree with you kind of...

i agree that if we cant trust them with a gun they should still be in jail. on the other hand their are people convicted of crimes in which i honestly wouldnt feel safe with that person being able to purchase guns legally, and yet i dont think the crime means you should be locked up forever.

not gonna read through everything but what is yalls opinion on people owning machine guns(full auto)?

i personally believe that any person with a clean record should be able to own one. i believe they should fall under the same ATF/NFA process as supressors/SBRs/SBSs.

anyone that is willing to go through all the paper work, registration, $200 tax, PITA, is most likely not to commit an offense with that gun. only one legally registered NFA gun has ever been used in a felony, which was a crooked cop. ONE out of 1000s of legal NFA guns.

and i dont care if YOU cant think of any reason i would need one. why shouldnt i be able to have one? have i dont anything to prove im not worthy of one?

I think Machine guns need to be available to the people who can afford them. I am a class three collector and I think NFA is still too much regulation. As it stands right now machine guns are more of a investment/richman's game than a weapon. Just in the past year M16s have gone up about 5K in value and its because of that why Hughes will never be repealed.

Hughes was passed wrongfully in the first place. it didnt even get enough votes to be passes. if NRA and all the other pro gun groups got together and pushed a big case about it they could get it repealed.

until they passed a new bill outlawing them again...

You realize how many Hughes millionaires' hearts would be broken though? That is why I don't think it would be passed.

If full auto guns were legal to own, id own one. Sadly, that will pretty much never happen in Canada.

Give them to who? Nobody is going to come take them other than a thief. This is the USA. They'll never come try to take your firearms, only make bullets cost as much as fuel and hard as hell to get.

No I didn't. I just watched it. What I do know.....If you poses a firemarm in front of law enforcement you're most likely going down. Now if she had it in her hand due to them being there to confiscate it, then they used excessive force which is all too common these days. I can't make judgements off of one video, I need more info regarding this "gun confiscation" that is supposedly taking place there.

Can somebody please enlighten me about what's taking place there. I'm not understanding what hurricane Katrina and taking firearms that people LEGALLY posess have to do with each other. I will say those cops sure looked like they were on a mission (or power trip of some kind though...)

Ok, let me reiterate..depends on the situation. So let me get this straight...after hurricane Katrina hit and there was looting and chaos everywhere, police came around and took firearms from honest citezens that weren't causing trouble? Were these guns ones that weren't registered in the system? Did they single out homes where people that had prior violations lived? Like I said, I have no idea what's going on in that video.

Everyone tends to have this illusion that the police are going to come around in masses, knock on your door and ask you to hand your guns over. Who knows, as stupid as this world is getting maybe this is true and will actually happen someday, or possibly even has happened already in places judging from this video. But I don't fall for media hype it can be easily made to look a certain way, and have always believed that if I didn't see it with my own eyes, then I can't make a judgement on it. It's all heresay to me unless I personally saw it with my own two eyes. I need more info on the situation in that video.

in most states there is no registration...here in GA cops dont have carte blanch authority to seize weapons and they dont have a "right" to demand to see a gun license to carry either...

and yes during Katrina they went door to door it didnt matter who you were they stole the weapons at gun point from the citizens

That's the best idea I've ever heard.

I love Az, I buy all my guns used so technically the only proof I have showing the gun is mine is a hand written bill of sale. We don't have any background checks or have to notify anyone when selling guns used. You can trade guns like baseball cards here!

Aw9d that must be sweet, over here in NJ there is so much paperwork, I think they do it to discourage you to get one.
On the app to get a fire arms Id they asked why do you want to get one?

Thankfully it's still easy here in CA. Pay a extra $25 for the easy test you have to take, which is common sense if you know how to handle a gun, and then another $25 for the back ground check, and then wait 10 days for the background check to clear. Pick up your nice new gun and go shoot it. No paper work at all, the person behind the counter has to more paperwork than the buyer.

not true. You're supposed to fill out the appropriate paperwork for ATF and submit it when you're selling, trading, or giving away a firearm that's already been registered. Yes, you could technically just sell one of your guns to a friend, family member, whoever, but you are supposed to fill out the paperwork.
