Because the thicker the metal is the hotter u need to run. The hotter u run the faster u need the wire speed because it melts the wire faster. On that welder, I would use at least wire speed 4 and volts 35> if ur doing 1/4"

Zach, if you haven't toured tech...DO IT! It's awesome up there and I saw a couple of toyotas up there with mud on them. one was an awesome t100 but I never saw Cory or his truck. That tour took the whole time and couldn't work around his classes. But definitely looks like a great school and I'm gonna start applying soon.

 

well, buddies FJ is done. get lifted today. he picks it up later i’ll post pic. has 3” lift and 295/75R16 BFG at’s. i went with pic i was his only ride and i hauled his tires out to top gun customz. since it’s the only shop around here. if i don’t put my lift on, i’ll have them do it.

 

i'm glad you liked it! i'm not surprised you didn't see my truck, i'm parked on the inside of 'ghetto quad' which is the quad of dorms where Maddux/McCord, Ellington/Wharf, and the others are. pretty spaced out from the rest of campus, hence 'ghetto quad'. i like it though. did you by any chance see the sierra 2500 thats got mega bro lean? it parks off campus, so i see it off and on.

 

Haha me too man and we went to cooper hall and the new hall north. But I never saw that Sierra haha. I saw a couple of pretty nice chevy's, a lot of nice yota's, and a couple other nice trucks. Saw a few of the guys with big diesel trucks.....yeah, they're definitely compensating for somethin and that huge f650 I guess the engineering school has built that's painted purple

 

its true, there are a lot of nice trucks here, but a lot of frat boys compensating. theres a 350 with a 12 inch stack in the bed. looks absolutely rediculous.



and the purple dually is for the SAE teams, the formula and baja. they build racecars. its pretty neat. not a ford though. i think it says powermax on the side? or something like that.

 

Hahahahahahhaha stacks are so stupid. And I never really got to look at the purple truck, my buddy just said he thought it was an f650. But are the SAE teams only part of the engineering school or can anyone get in on it? That would be freaking awesome haha

I was looking through your profile and just saw you work at Tom's... Hopefully I'll be coming to visit you soon. I got a buddy who is going to pick up a Tundra in about 2 weeks and he said he called and got a quote for lift and wheels and tires from you guys. Said his plan is to bring it straight from the dealership over to y'all so you can hook him up! Maybe you can give me some good suggestions for my Tacoma while we're over there...
