My first bike i had was a scooter when i was 15 y/o. It had a Briggs and Strat pull start 5 h.p. motor and a metal flip plate for a brake.

Right when i turned 16 y/o, my dad bought me a 2001 Honda XR 200 which was my first dirt bike. That thing sucked at MX which i liked a lot and had friends ride, but was awesome in the woods.

When i turned 17 y/o, i sold the XR 200 and got a 1999 Honda CR 125. I rode that until i was 18 y/o and sold it when i left for college in 2004.

So, in 2012, after i got married, bought a home and had a baby, i bought a 2004 Honda CR 250. On September 5th, my wife's birthday, i took the bike to a local Houston track for the first time. Needless to say, a 250 was WAY to much for me and i messed up. Ended up shooting over a berm, breaking my left femur and ankle.

I'm healing up now, going to PT 2-3 times a week and have a second surgery in December.

So, any local Houstonians, i got a bike for sale for $1,900.

Dam dude! I hope you get better! I'm not trying to sound like a douche but be VERY careful and watch for infection. The same type of accident happened to my dad and it's not fun having to give him an I.V 3 times a day and have a nurse to to the house once a week just because it got infected

2007 Crf250, she has alot of heart. I have a build thread in my link and also some gopro vids there too.

Recently had to buy a new set of Excels bc i split my rear rim and when i was checking out the front wheel it was beginning to split as well. On a plus note the Excel A60 are strong as hell but not as light as they advertise

Thank you i really like the bike. It has DOT dirt tires now. But i get compliments all the time on the trails "That bike is bad ass, haven't seen one of them in years, that thing is legendary" even had one guy offer to buy it off me.

Yeah, for sure. I have been looking at my incisions very closely. Nothing that the dr. aren't concerned about. They've all closed up and are looking better. I don't have temperature, swelling, redness so i'm not worried. However, i was anemic and have lost a lot of muscle, and feel weak.

It's weird though, as one day i'll be chipper, then the next, "leave me alone" type of day. It may because of the emotions that i'm dealing with, but also from the healing and general situation.

    BE SAFE GUYS!

Last weekend some friends and myself went camping at st anthony, we had a group of about 10 people (2 bikes and the rest quads). It was my first time at the sand dunes...found out that dune riding is pretty god dam fun!:D

A friend of mine (I can't remember who) told me about St. Anthony in Idaho and told me to for sure go check it out one day. I couldn't remember the name of it until I saw you write it. I definitely gonna look into a trip over there next summer. After I buy a paddle tire :D

Riding dunes is so awesome huh! Its just about the only place where you can ride literally everything out there. Any surface you want just point and go. Nothing to really hit, you can go as fast as you want, massive dunes to bank huge g force turns off of. At one point we were riding in this middle section and it was just so smooth, I was just riding carefree worry free and smooth and linking dune after dune having not a clue or a care where I was going and jumping off of little hits and lips in 3rd gear and picking lines through the dunes just like I would pick lines snowboarding on a mountain side. It was so sick. I wanted to stay in that section of dines for hours but we had to go find the rest of the group.

Ya st. anthony is really sick. Its freaking massive too, so it's not like you get bored haha. The other guy I was with on the bike (he was fucking good, jumping 100 ft and wheeling across dune faces) had a couple of go pros and im sure he will be making a vid, ill post it up once he finishes it.
A paddle is a must! Its a lot of work even riding with a paddle, if you actually want to be able to accelerate or climb hills or jump or do wheelies or not wring your bike out you need a paddle. Makes it much more ride able!

    hahaha
My buddy has a kx250f and its not too bad. I ride a ktm 200 two stroke so its peppy but I would rather have a 450 for dunes. My cousin just sold his 450sxf

Eh, not really that much power. I ride a 250f right now, and it's fine for the riding I do, which is all single track and trail riding both in the mountains and in the desert. I like it because of how light it is, but I'm at the point now where I basicially need a 450. I'm always wringing out every gear and topping out the bike. I hoped on my buddies 450 Kawi and climbed right up a huge dune hill first try after I only made it about half way with my bike. Then at the top I pulled a wheelie for about 10 ft with no effort, it was great. The dunes is an extreme example of where more power is always better, but it really did show me just how underpowered my bike is for my riding ability. I really want to have a 450 the next time I go there, I know I'll have a lot more fun because I won't always be bogging down.

I know exactly what you mean. I have a yz450f and that thing just tractors around the dunes. You can be in 3rd gear and so low in the rpm its chugging and crack the throttle and ride a wheelie up a hill. Ive never ridden a 250f but I came from 250 2 strokes and the hardest thing to get used to was not using the clutch even when its low and lugging like that, just crack the throttle and it goes

250f's kinda suck in the sand. I've been to st Anthony and it was a blast on my yz450, it went up choke like a champ. While I was there I saw a cr500 wheelie up and down thunder and a bunch of guys jumping 100+ ft.

Exactly. Also i have ridden a 250 2 stroke ktm and just didn't really like it. Im sticking to my thumpers.

HAHA that was exactly the hill I was talking about. First day out I just could not make it up choke cherry to save my life. I made it at most about half way up before I started side cutting. Then my buddy who has been riding dunes for 10 years walked right up it on my 250 after I made it up with his 450 (skill does have some play in this lol) then the 2nd day after a few failed attempts on my last try I made it literally 10 feet from the top of that fucking thing and my bike decided not to kick into 1st. I was so pissed but we were moving on so i called that a success.

My 250 did kind of suck lol. It just wasnt right for really hammering into the dunes as fast as I wanted to go. I would charge at em topped out in 4th, hit 3rd at the bottom and have to hit 2nd at the top of the dune i was turning on, and that was just too slow for me. third didn't have near as much power as I needed to keep my speed as fast as I wanted. Next year hopefully ill have a 450. It was still a blast though. Certainly doing it again.
