I just got this Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH installed. I love it so far. It has a lot of features and can do everything I wanted it to.

the pioneer avh-1400 is a good radio for what you are paying.. it has an 8 band eq which last years model didnt have! besides the ipod interfaceing works great just the cords hang off the front of the radio has great sound output once you adjust it but for $299 i would look around some more because i sell them at $249 in a store!
and as far as the video with pioneer the video wire has to see ground everytime the truck cuts on which means either a toggle switch or a relay! i used a relay because it automatically bypasses everytime you cut on the truck

How do you plan on adjusting your gain with the amp facing downward and the cap in the way?

Go to Amazon and type in parking break bypass. A company sells them on there and they are only 10 bucks. All you do is hook up 3 wires; black to ground, red to 12v source, and green to parking break wire on back of radio. It was simple.

Hey guys, I dont have my system installed yet but hopefully in the next month or so. I'm going to be running:

    alpine W-900BT
    Boston SPZ-60s front,
    Rears unknown (recomendations welcome),
    PDX 4.150 and 1.1000 with two 13 TW5s.

My question for all you Double Din guys is what dash kit are you going with and what are the pros and cons. Ive only found two kits so far (scoshce and Metra). My friend doesnt like his Scoshce, says its cheap and it doesnt fit right. Anyone have any input?

I would stick to metra. The scosche that I previously purchased had cheap flimsy plastic brackets. I guess the metra uses the origanal metal brackets.

well most radios you can just ground them like the guy said below which pioneer could do but now pioneer for the last two or three years have to get a new ground signal everytime the truck cuts on so u would put a two way toggle switch one side to ground and the other to the light green video wire.. or a relay behind the radio which if you decide on a relay i can get you the info for that which in my opinion is the best way because it will automatically bypass everytime..
