There's a lot of better mods that can be done with that money, why waste it on a hood that does nothing special?

I get what you saying Tommyc, I laugh every time these kids bring in there Civics into my garage with one of those hoods on, and the big spoiler on the trunk.

Actually no. Carbon is more rigid for it's weight than fiberglass, but fiberglass is tougher. CF panels are used in race cars because they withstand fluttering at high speeds better due to the ridgidity. If you damage the matrix however, the panel is more likely to come apart. Not so with fiberglass. Case in point are fishing rods. You get a nick in a CF rod and it will explode. You can beat a glass rod to hell before it will give up.

On the taco, totally agree, but I lost alot of weight swapping the fiberglass hood and trunk lid on my car for carbon fiber. The parts weigh maybe a 1/4 of what they replaced.

same reason they put a hood scoop on the sport models thats non functional. Same reason any cosmetic mod is done. To change the look. Plus i have the money to do it. So why not do it. I think when you see it done you'll change your mind.

NICE! you use the factory latch or the latch and some pins to keep it closed?

Dude, I said if you have money spend it on a better mod. That's it. Do what you want, I just think it a waste of money.

When I was a young guy they use to say all show no go to this type of mod. Why is everyone talking about the weight? Op said he wants it for looks. It's far from being a race car.
I say if you want it get it. If you don't want others opinion, I guess don't post the question.
