Got the free sample that was on this website earlier this year, liked the quick response from the salesman and the fact he "bit the bullet" and paid for shipping and handling.

Went on Amazon 2 months ago and figured 2 rattle cans should cover my 2010. Sure enough, it did. Put on goggles and mouth breather and went crazy under the truck. No pics today but if it rusts like hell over the winter I will be posting pics.

If you want real protection, use what us Canadians use: oil sprays.

I actually strayed from my usual Amsoil heavy duty metal protector, which is essentially an oil product, and used fluid film on my frame for this coming winter. The oil worked alright but isn't as durable as the waxy fluid film.

I'm very pleased with the Fluid Film it gets into every thing, my frame is still oily from last year it doesn't ware or wash off.

I found a few Fluid Film retailers near me. I think I'm going to give it a go. Those of you who have applied it, does it hurt to get it on your exhaust? Brakes? Suspension?

What are you spraying? Frame rails? Cross members? Axle? Drive-shaft? Engine pan? Tranny? Transfer-case? Diff? I was probably going to hit the inside of my chrome rear bumper too.

I guess the real questions is, "What should you NOT spray?"

    Thanks.

DO NOT spray your brakes! Putting any sort of lubricant on a brake is bad news. Everything else is fine. Tough to get off glass though.

Cool. I'm thinking, with three cans, I should have some leftover for a touch up. Will find out.

bilstein set at 1.75, Racho 5000 rear with 4 leaf kit, floor mats, high lift jack, pull hook in hitch, bed rail corner braces, severe duty brake pads and devil horns on the grill....
the old tried and true antirust undercoat in salt infested climates was used motor oil, spayed with an old, cheap spay gun...and done right on the lube rack. Then let the vehicle drain on a pad with the drains going to an oil/water seperator. Took five minutes and keep most of the rust off the frame, suspension, rockers and such. The current crop of vehicles are much better at preventing rust out due to design and better initial coatings.

I have put many a new floor in a vehicle while coating the new material in roofing tar.

Shit, I hope I didn't hit the brakes (wife took the truck today...in fact she should be home by now?!?!) The stuff stinks bad.

I mean really, really bad. Hope the smell wears off after a while.

I bought the undercoating kit from Kellsport, free shipping. I used my free sample to 'wax' my rear chrome bumper. If you apply it lightly and rub it in as you would a wax, it gives a nice shine and lasts a long time. The Fluid Film guys say you can wax your painted surfaces with it as well although I haven't been brave enough to go that far. So far, I've coated the receiver since it was starting to look pretty bad, and also some black iron pipe that is piped from my house to a propane tank. I coated it months ago and it still looks wet and seems to be doing it's job. I'll get my whole frame coated this fall.

I've heard wax and chain saw bar lube mixed together is an old remedy that works very well.

You guys do any wire brushing first or straight onto already-rusted surfaces? Also does anyone have a link to the exact product we're talking about? Thanks!

It will not cure rust but it will stop it. I sprayed every thing took all the wheels off removed the spare (by the way it's also a good chain lube great for the spare assembly) did the hitch, rear backing plates rear drums where they meet the axles (ever tried to get brakes drums off at 90K) any thing that even looks like it might rust. Yeah try to keep it off the brakes but don't loose sleep over it,it will burn off in a stop or two. Yes it smokes like crazy if it's on the exhaust but goes away in a few miles.

I like how the fluid film has held up thus far. I forgot I sprayed everything a while ago and saw a damp layer still on a few things and thought Oh Crap, something is leaking! Then it occurred to me that the film is still there :)
