Billy 5100's came today......

Hey, I've read all the posts regarding the 5100's and am still in the air in terms of which setting for the fronts. I have the rear TSB done already and am unsure if I should roll with the 1.75" or the 2.50" setting. Seems like the 2.50" settings are a little nose high, correct me if I wrong folks. Not sure if the 1.75" will be enough. Going for a level ride now and will upgrade my coils/UCAs later. If it weren't for this economy, I'd do it all at once. Any pics provided whould surely help. Thanks!

1.75" should level it out nicely

go with 1.75..........ass end will settle a bit, and it'll be perfect. at 2.5, after it settles, you may be a tad higher in the front.

 

I have it set at 1.75 W/ no TSB
and thx for reminding me I have to get around to that haha

 

What about setting it to 2.5" and then getting the Toytec AAL for TSB? will that sit level? (interested in mounting larger wheels/tires)

 

that should work just fine. should be pretty damn level with the aal for the tsb springs.

 

TSB was done over 6-months ago and the rear never settled and is still raised a bit. Debating doing the Toytec AAL but that is a 1.5" leaf.

i think you'd be happy with 1.75................you can always take them back off and set them to 25 if you dont like it the other way.

 

1.75 for sure with tsb will level right out...doesn't 2.5 cause some vibrations or drifting

 

Will any other parts be needed for these shocks? or is everything included. Purchased from Down South Motor Sports.... Sonny has awesome customer service.

Everything you need is included. IIRC you'll get the washer the dirt gaurd sits on and the bushing for the top. I may be wrong but you'll have everything you need. are you planning to install yourself???

 

As of now, a buddy at work is going to do it. I was kinda wondering if I need that 1/4" spacer for the drivers side.... Or is that only needed when I change the OEM springs?

 

you're fine w/o it. The most popular spacer i've heard of people adding is to compensate for any sagging from OME springs. Keeping the stock springs you'll be fine. There is a trim packer you can put on one side to compensate for the "taco lean"

 

The drivers side is usually a 1/4 to 1 inch lower, so if that bothers you, you will need the spacer.
