    Right?! That bumper did WORK.

She wasn't hurt, just shaken up. I'm impressed with how blasted she got, and how little damage I saw. Anyways, stoked to see an insurance check come in (whenever it does)..

:D But, toyota ftmfw > ford

So I devised a plan to be able to lock my bikes in my truck if they need to sit someplace for a bit (mostly for piece of mind) but I noticed that the tie down hooks have phillips head screws going into the bed. Are they really just screwed in? Or were they screwed in and then welded?

    F44596D6-5574-4828-BC7D-26DE459BAEAA-266_b8e4810a1c456401c15c5ebbdf610dcbf4bd45c6.jpg

Because if they were screwed in then this plan would be pretty much fail.

    ...too much shit to list.
    Yep...just screwed in.
Chances are they are seized up pretty good if they've never been removed before.

hey I replied to your post about my stock bumper. It's yours if you want it. However, it does not have the frame backets. From the look of your pics your frame brackets on your bumper might be toast. I'm happy to check it out with you if you want. If my stock bumper will work for you and you want it, let me know.

Also happy to help fab a new one if you can give me a little time.

Hmm maybe I'll have my buddy tack them in so they are more permanent. I was also thinking about welding some solid anchor points into the bed after I take off the stupid plastic bedliner. Fear of theft is a big thing for me unfortunately since I had a motorcycle stolen from my apartment already. I would never leave the bike locked in some place for an extended period of time (like weeks) but there will probably be times it needs to be in the bed over night on occasion.

Thanks box, I'll definitely need the brackets- the bumper is just a bit dented up. But all in all, might just fab up a new one with a tire carrier and hi-lift mount :D Take your time, I imagine it'll be a process.

Nice, what kind of liner did you use? I was thinking of platidipping my grille but that looks good too.

Change the screws. Something like this. I can get a screw head at any walmart to remove these but if someone want's it they're going to get it and by simply changing out the very common phillips with a weird shaped hole it would probable make most would be thieves look for an easier target. Quite frankly though that chain doesn't look like it would hold it's own again my heavy duty bolt cutters. Just do the best you can, which it seems like you're trying to do.

Make sure you get on a rack and inspect your frame. A hit like that could bend it easily.
