3 of us walked the edge of the creek on both sides and didn't find anything. There is an old clear cut there that doesn't have any brush, just ferns and high weeds. I wouldn't think he went uphill though. I might go look there tonight if I get off work in time

I'm guessing 18ish wide. At least an 8. Probably 7+" g2s. Biggest buck I've ever shot

Losin a deer is one of the worst things about huntin. It's bound to happen at some point. I lost a decent 8 last year. Found him a week and a half later with buzzards on him

Gotta hate that. The buck I shot Sunday night came from down wind. I thought he was gonna bust me for sure. Luckily he didn't though.

i never really use the wind.. i always cover myself in scent killer before i walk in and spray some pine cover scent on my stuff once i get closer to my stand since im hunting in a pine thicket. always have deer walking right by me or under me.. i mean sure the downwind upwind plays a role forsure since they can smell basically anything but just cover your scent with something natural thats stronger and i dont see a problem with it..

I just got back a couple days ago, spent 5 days down on our lease. I saw a ton of deer but all small bucks mostly (fork horns and spikes) shot this buck that had a kicker off his base and shot some freezer meat also the night before I left. The buck weighed 215lbs which is great for our area, the doe was right at 155 not bad but I always neck shoot my does that way I get more meat :D

The new Ruger American rifle 30-06 I just picked it up this year and one of the best shooting guns I've ever shot. It also has a free floating barrel, honestly to get it sighted in (after bore sighting) 3 shot's and I can drive nails with it at 300 yards. The doe in the picture I shot her at 215 yards. It's a great all around gun IMO real light also and does not have much of a kick at all.

215 yards?!!?? I sight my rifles in at 75 yards. And most of the time don't shoot any more than 50

Seriously?! I shoot my muzzleloader out to 175-200. And shoot my bow comfortable at 60 yards. I like to practice at longer ranges esp with my bow b/c it makes those 20 and 30 yard shots a breeze. You must call all your deer in to 50 yards or something :D The majority of the deer I've ever taken with my rifle have been out past 100 yards.
