i have a 1.25 rear block and it caused my shocks to top out on larger speed bumps this is one of the reasons people are pushing u towards new shocks that are longer and better for lifting

I am no expert by any means but based on everything I've read on TW and mechanics I talked with blocks and spacers are bad for the frame and give an equally as stiff ride. Looks like you can do blocks and spacers for about 150ish bucks if you do it yourself. I would personally say put up the extra cash and do it right to avoid any issues.

All of this is just my opinion and we all have them.

Well you are. You're changing your driveline angles. Putting extra stress on your CV's, BJ's etc. I'm not saying some coilovers can be a great upgrade for offroad driving. All I was saying is that any aftermarket setup was not what the truck was designed for (obviously). So there will be trade off's. Not trying to be a dick here just offering some points for consideration.

I agree its the way to go. But a top plate spacer artificially moves the top of your strut down to give a higher stance. You will need extra length studs though. But you don't need a coil compressor. For my trucks I always have had suspension lifts (besides my old GMC 2wd i had blocks).. but I also offroad.

I had 5100s all round and add a leaf in the back. Not sure what the cutoff is, but if you lift the back high enough you should get some shocks with longer travel. Again, if you're not 4WD your shocks will most likely never reach full extension. Pretty sure with add a leaf stock shocks will be just fine.

I had the same toytec lift on my first tacoma for a little over a year. The ride was terrrrible! Super rough. and my alignment was not good either (caster) as my truck would wonder all over the highway.
It did look good though

My first taco (07) with the cheap toytec lift.

Without new UCA's I would not advise going over 2.5" of lift up front. for the rear a AAL would be fine. I didnt get new rear shocks for a while either and for my uses it was fine. I did end up getting rear 5100's and the wheelers 3 AAL after a while though as the Sinlge 1.5" AAL rode pretty rough.

The more you can spend the better your ride will be.

same truck but with fox CO's, wheelers 3 AAL and 5100's

looked the same (well .5" shorter in front) but the ride was sooo much better
