what i got out of it is hes saying his cage isnt all that tucked like he thinks it is...and by the pic blackhawk250 posted he has a pretty large piece of plate in there attaching the cab to the cage...more then enough room for dimples

CAI, dynomax turbo exhaust system, tinted windows medium on the fronts to match the backs, hid kit hi and low beam, pop and lock tailgate, painted calipers red with caliper paint, put 2.25' leveling kit in front and a 1" block in the rear. its now level and rides WAY better (readylift)>way nicer than the revtek my buddy has i think its garbage imo<, hurst "T" shifter, 18 x 10 american racing (can't remember the name) chrome rims with badass 5 inch lip :), 12 inch rockford fosgate punch with rockford fosgate 600 watt amp, bushwacker fender flares (cheaper than replacing the one i wrecked lol) ,kc light bar with kc lights, toyota aluminum stamped skid plate, and a skull front license plate. More mods to come, thinking a 6 inch lift and arb bumper etc etc.
I want a decent kit to raise my truck first off and secondly take the abuse ill give it. I like to go fast over shit but at the same time i dont mind slowing down and crawling over the bigger stuff i work oil field so the roads arnt bad really. but thats not what the truck is being built for. im going to do some research into this and see where i go.

i offroad alot. ive had many trucks from big chevys to an 1985 toyota 4runner and each has its pros and cons. i want to build a mid truck. not a huge truck ( like the chevy i had with 44s but i dont want a small truck with 31s ... the 33s arent bad but 35s would be nice if i can make it work. im fine with regearing and also already on the way to the front mount turbo system.)

The biggest dillemma i have currently and what i want out of the tacoma is a better truck. ive been looking into it lately and there are alot of things that piss me off about the tacoma. however i bought it because i loved the look and i knew the potential ... now its just taking the truck to its true potential however there are many ways to build the truck. Someone once told me that they like the look of the wide rims i had on it ( -21mm offset with 285 65 18s ) or 33x12.5s and honestly it did look good. so it got me thinking what about a long travel kit able to clear 33s or bigger depending on fenders and triming the front cab mount. and the obvious upgrading the ifs components. because even if i went with a 6 inch pro comp i would still feel like upgrading stuff. i love how the truck handled on the wide rims it was like riding on rails for a tacoma however im back to my -6mm rims for now ( i want 20s and sold the 18s for almost twice what i payed for them win! )

again ill think about it and research into it more. do you mind if i Pm you because trying to find who says what on this forum is a bit nuts lots of posts hahaha

    thanks for the help

below the truck with the 18s on it. they sat about 1 inch outside the bushwacker fender flares...

mines like that but we didnt bend the tube out and forward with the cab's stock pillers because its stronger left straight. not to mention that looks like 1.75 in the picture. Pict doesnt do it justice cuz its tighter then a virgin hah

You seem all over the map...

    Front mount turbo,
    Crawler,
    Go fast,
    33" or 35" tires on 20" rims,
    With LT?

If you really want all that stick with an All Pro LT kit or go mid travel and save the headache. Mid travel, properly setup will be fine.

But seriously, dubs and LT? Sounds like you are from Cen Cal Trucks... :D

so i just looked at my coilover top plates... an well...
they are from a camburg kit but then i noticed that they are different shapes and then even worse i realize that they are both bent to the point where i cant put a new bolt through them. should i just heat em up and bend them back, see if camburg will replace them, or just buy new ones?
    here are some pics:

If your plates look like that I'm willing to bet your coil buckets are bent too
