Yeah iirc the red locked idiot light shows up regardless if you're in 4hi 4lo or 2hi. It's been a while so I don't remember the relays but is that the 12volt one?

I'm not sure why people want to do the relay locker mod. Haven't researched it enough, but I did this one about a year ago and haven't had any problems what so ever. It is unbelievably simple. I hid my switch in the glove box. When I flip it, I can then push the factory button and away I go. I don't know if you want to put everything back like it was and do this one but hope this helps. http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd...mod-dbbd1.html

This is sort-of on subject. My 2012 4x4 short bed 5 speed Doesn't have the TRD package, but does it still have the locker or only auto LSD. I would love to do this mod

No e locker unless you have the off road package. There's always a lunchbox locker or arb.

Not sure oldtommyboy, some say it does. I'm sure there were some upgrades/changes but I would guess it would work since most changes seem to be cosmetic.

Is there anyway to test my 4 lo? Do I have a bad relay? Why doesn't it work?

Non yet that's y I'm here to find out what is the best mod.
So I have a question. When I turn my locker on it just flashes. Does it stop flashing when it's locked in? So the locker will only work in 2wd. Not 4wd hi or low right? Just bought a 2005 four door Tacoma and had it in 4wd once. Sorry to ask such easy questions new to tacoma's

Unless you do the locker anytime mod, the locker only works in 4Lo. I don't know of the locker light blinking at me, but I did the locker mod a while ago so I can't remember if it may have done that prior to the mod. Once you are in 4Lo, push the locker button and start driving slowly forward, possibly turning to the left or right and the locker will eventually lock in. Red Locker light should be solid when it is locked in.

OME complete kit with dakars, LR UCAs, Seat covers, weathertechs, anytime foglight mod, ABS kill switch, locker anytime mod, powered sub, halos, leer topper, aux/ipod hookup.
Just got finished with the mod, only took it down the block and back but seems to be doing the trick. I can hear the relay click then momentarily after the locker clicks and the light comes on. Is there anything I should lookout for ,do/not do? Like go to fast with it on or engage it going too fast?

I try not to engage it over 20mph and even then only while driving in a straight line and not spinning the tires. If you are stuck and need to engage it before sure to not exceed 5 mph while trying to engage it. Once it is locked I have gone as high as 60mph with it engaged with no problems though.

also, it will engage quicker after you use it more... like breaking it in i guess.
