My biggest concern is we finally get the driveline vibration fixed, then we find out it caused internal transmission/transfer case issues down the road. Mine vibrates like crazy and there's no way that can be good for any of the drivetrain.

Have any of you guys with the vibe and an auto noticed your transmission slip, or back shift then up shift quickly from 3-2-3? Mine has done this several times with more frequency lately.

I may very well have a brake drum issue as well. Mine vibrates so badly on deceleration that until I get the drivetrain fixed, I won't know if mine is coming 100% from the drivetrain or partially from the brakes.

They need to act soon because I can't stand driving it this way anymore. I'm almost ready to take it on the chin and trade on an F150 Ecoboost.

I have a 2011. My drums were defective from the factory. They replaced them and those too were defective. They had a Toyota rep come down and they finally figured out that the drums were made out of round. They resurfaced the drums and it was like silk for a while. Now it's back. Headed in for 15k service soon and I will be bitching again.

If I had to do it over that's what I would be driving, I just can't take it on the chin otherwise I would dump this piece of shit. And yes I am a ford man that made a mistake. No way we should be having these issues I have 5,800 miles my feelings now are if Toyota can't build a truck get out of the truck business.

My dad just purchased a 2.7 5spd 2012 RCLB. It has around 4K miles and I was driving it the other day and noticed a vibration between 65 and 75 mph. It was acting like a tire belt separation or unbalanced wheels. I had him take it to the dealer where he purchased it from. They balanced the wheels and that did not fix it. The technician diagnosed the truck with a bent drive shaft.

He just had it installed today and problem solved.

I'm guessing a manufacturing problem. Sounds like they will be busy with the possibility of a recall with all the threads I'm seeing here.

Ive got 2800 km's on mine. Didnt notice a vibration until I started reading these threads (that was at about 100 km's). I think it may be getting worse. What a piece of shit, Ill have to complain when I take it in for my first oil change.

I have the same shit happening with mine... Is there a petition started for this to send to Toyota? So many of us seem to be having this problem. It may be normal for all these trucks to do it but it isn't "normal" mine does it and sometimes it doesn't do it... But it is pissing me off, if I bought a cheap truck I could expect cheap parts etc... This truck wasn't cheap!
What problems is this creating for us down the road with other components?

I hope I never have to buy another truck from anyone. It has cost a small fortune to fix the issues and short comings of this one. In a lot of ways I wish I still had my 69 bronco or my 73 F250.

My 2013 DCSB prerunner also has a shudder at acceleration, but it only does it every now and then, with a payload. I first noticed it over the Thanksgiving weekend with only 700 miles on it. My thoughts initially were, "Really?!". New truck, bone stock and this! The truck, with three adults and quit abit of gear in the bed was sitting low. After the trip I ordered the Roadmaster active suspension system, moslty to assist with the with heavy payloads, and according to them it also eliminates axle wrap, which could be part of the problem. Truck runs smooth with no load on it.

I'll be looking out for Toyota's possible TS-B for the vibration issues.

I have a 2010 double cab and also notice some vibes at certain speeds . What did they change in 2012 to make the vibes soooo noticeable ?
Have they not used the same driveline parts since 2006 ?
As far as I understand , the auto transmission , transfer case , 2 peice driveshaft and differential are all the same since 2006 .
If there is a TSB coming , it may effect more than just the 2012 models .
Who,s pocket book gets hit ?
As far as a re-call for this ? I dont beleive its a safety issue or at least we dont know if it has created a safety issue " YET "

Subbing for a tsb. Although since mines lifted I'll probably get told to pound it.

Im pretty sure when they come out with the TSB you can get them to do it. If not, just call the 800 number.

It to be a downer but..... You guys actually think Toyota is going to make a TSB on this? I don't. This seems to have been a bit if a problem since 05 more pronounced on the 12+ or were just more pissed..

I just don't see Toyota doing shit about it. As long as we all
Keep buying this truck they will keep selling it with a f$&ked up driveshaft. That my opinion.

Does the vibration shake your steering wheel? I've noticed on my 2013 that as I approach 50mph my steering wheel vibrates side-to-side, as I reach 55 it smooths out. All other speeds smooth as silk.

The answer may be in your very last video (shown here). Watch the drive shaft (the shaft forward of the silver bracket almost directly in the middle of the screen) closely. As you speed up and slow down, that shaft is moving forwards and backwards almost in direct proportion to that. When it reaches the rear-most position, it appears to be hitting that silver bracket. And, indeed, the noise occurs just as the shaft is in the very rear-most position. That silver bracket seems to be adjustable. Have you or a dealer tried moving it further back to see if the noise stops?

    Well your opinion is wrong....
They are working on it and the Field Rep wants me to help in the testing of the procedure on my own truck.
This is one of the top 5 issues they have been going after.
    YES A TSB IS COMING.
Exactly when I'm not sure or for which years or body styles.
The rep bugs me every time he sees me to sign up for the beta test.

I hope you are right.... But I will believe it when I see it.. Not trying to be an ass I hope we see one soon...

Who is this Toyota rep you speak of?

Oh I understand how you feel. The wheels of progress grind like fingers on a chalk board. I wish we had more info on what's going on. But, like any big business, they have their way of doing things and we just have to wait.

I just traded a 2010 F150 to purchase my Tacoma. Truck had approx 80,000 miles and I had the first transmission replaced at 10k, second was doing the exact same thing since it was installed. Go in their forums, they are having a ton of issues with this 6 speed tranny. Always hunting for gears, harsh shifts, bumps when you stop and the list goes on. Also resale was a mess seeing Ford has been heavily incenting them to compete against Dodge and Chevy's. I can say this truck has much fewer "issues" than Ford.

Any chance of you telling us the top 5 issues? I'm certain the community here would be a valuable resource of information and real-life experience.

As far as which years / body styles goes. My 2013 access cab is doing this. :(
