I asked a few months ago if anyone wanted to trade a 2008 lower center dash piece with their 2009, unfortunately no one took me up on it. So I had to just buy the thing. It's not cheap, but I saved a few hundred lives the other day at work and they gave me a $100 bonus.

I'm a perfectionist by nature and I don't like the drill a hole in the middle of your dash idea and put a gaudy looking switch there. I like it to look as it came from the factory.

For the record a 2009 lower dash piece will fit a 2005-2008.
Just throwing ideas out there for everyone!

The total was like $105 to my door for the panel and the black inserts are just under $4.00 each. I just went through Conicelli Parts Center, as they were the cheapest I found.

Not really all that glamorous of a story really. Not worth busting out popcorn for anyway!
A Citation Jet blew out a windscreen and started to descend. So I peeled a ½ dozen, or so, aircraft out of his way and talked him to the nearest airport. Just doing my job really.
But a few hours afterward the pilot called in to thank me, but I had already gone home. He told the Ops. Mgr I should get a commendation for my professionalism and He agreed.

I put a piece of masking tape over the front to protect it and be able to mark the center.
Drilled a pilot hole in the center and used a step drill to ½" as the switch is .512" that was close enough to trim with a utility knife. Then I squared out the .75" height for the switch.
Along with trimming all the excess off the back and still keep the locking tabs to hold it in, it took about an hour. It could probably have been done in less time, but I'm just anal about crap like that!

I'm working on that same thing myself. I bought the lower panel from a member on here and got 3 blanks and I'm installing my seat heater switches in two of them. The third will probably be a rooftop light bar switch.

It was quite a challenge getting the switch in there, not much material left after drilling with a uni-bit.

I was counting my current accessories and future ones the other day..
With only one blank switch left, the future seemed bleak. But with this, all things are possible again.

What switches do the 2009's have down there?

Just the back plate is black, all the dials are silver. I got my black A/C panel from ebay from a seller named LKQonline.

I don't believe there are any switches on the '09. These holes are smaller than the upper dash holes, the standard switches won't fit.
