A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
Not to sure if the shock is rebuildable but the spring can be swapped out as long as you know the dimension like length diameter and rate. You can PM call or message Downsouth Motorsports and ask if they can rebuild it.

Actually looking to just replace the shock, and can't find a part number on the shock body. So was hoping someone has done the swap themselves that would have that info?

Thanks. Found out they are 4600 but they no longer produce them as they were spacifically designed for Downey. Bilsein has original design but cannot reproduce as they belong to Downey offroad. Oh well, guess I'm stuck having buy a new system.
    Anyone have any suggestions?
I was thinking to go with allpro 3.5 with the 650 coils to compensate for wench, bumper and occasional roof rack when on excursions.

What is this 3.5 you keep referring to??? Do you mean 2.5?
You can't even fit a 3.5" coil carrier shock into a factory coil bucket.

    That doesn't make sense either.
Going over 3" on a 4x4 first gen is asking for CV problems.

Lol true. Idk ive never even heard of downey. And bilstein 4600 coilovers dont sound like an awesome pair. If your gonna pay for coilovers shouldve gotten something better imo :notsure:

It is a 3.5" coilover system and Downey offroad was one of the first Toyota spacific aftermarket offroad designers and were the leader in the market for over 15 years. They closed their doors about 6 years ago as the owner decided to retire and sell his manufacturing designs to procomp. And to your comment on cv issues its true, but by switching to manual locking hubs as well as redesigned universal ball joint it was achievable and has served in three of my tacomas and thousands of miles in the backcountry of Baja California. I skipped trying to rebuild and just went with the all pro package as I'm taking my lil beast to across central and South America for the next year.
Happy trails. And thanks for the interest.
