    I'd be lying if it wasn't part of my plan. Is it the only part? No. I do have other things set up, and have since I was about 24. Honestly there's no telling how much I will have in either part, but we're doing the best we can with the income we have.

    This is me... but i here slightly older ppl talk about it like it gonna pay for 20 years of living expenses when they retire early :confused:
    I guess being this young and the current state of our nation ive been jaded but i dont expect shit from the govt. Everything i put in i view as a loss and move on. But saying that i hope ppl get their money back that they put in.

    the lady that does my 401k recommends NOT counting on SS at all and has a 10-10-30 plan. save 10% of your wages, earn 10% on that amount, and do that for 30 years. that will leave you pretty comfortable according to her

    and baby boomers are sucking hte system dry

    I like her plan even tho its hard to make 10% right now with the economy. Sounds easy and legit. When i get a real job hopefully in the next couple of months i plan on saving first for my kids college

    Yea, I mean I don't expect everything they say we should get, but I'm sure there'd be something (be it from the same system or from a new system).

    I think the last statement they gave me said with current trends I'd get approx. 70% of what I normally should have.
