Here's my Canfield Brothers Yelli Screamy! Love the bike. Way more fun than any other 29er I've ridden thanks to the super short chainstays and slackish headtube angle. Custom build with SRAM 9, XT and Stans wheels.

Im looking for a mountain bike in the 500-650 range. Mainly for getting to and from campusbut also for some trail riding on the weekend when time permits. anyone have any recommendations? Should i go with a 29 or 26? I tested a 29 and liked how it felt. Seems like it would be good for rolling over curbs and other urban obstacles.... but and this might sound stupid, but ive always wanted to practice some trials style riding, and im guessing the 29 would suck for that

ive never trail ridden a 29er but from people ive talked to personally have said they absolutely love them, one said that although its not as flickable as a 26 its still easy to adjust. you probably wont have that problem though and especially since you like how it feels a 29er might be the way to go.

as far as trials go, yeah it probably wont be the best, a 26er would probably be better. a regular 26er might still be tough to ride trials with but better than a 29er

as far as a model, if your willing to go used you could probably get a fairly new, maybe a couple of years old, bike with an air fork, decent drivetrain and brakes.

    maybe something like this?

He can always upgrade the shock as his riding abilities improve. That is what I am going to do....

I didn't check the specs on that thing but it looks like its got a lot of flex, especially at the flex points.

    Yeah.
    WANT

At first I was like, that's some smooth singletrack. Then I was like, holy crap! Fast is smooth through big rock gardens, as long as you can stay on the bike.

Does anyone have a wish list bike from Niner? They are doing a demo ride in Orange County, NY this weekend, if anyone is around.
