My uncle was a GADNR officer. He told me he could help me get in if I wanted to do it. I thought about it, but my buddy doesn't get paid all that great, has to be in the woods every either sex day, opening day, holiday, most weekends, and then does all kinda other stuff he doesn't HAVE to do, but is EXPECTED to do. I'd rather have my own time to be in the woods in a stand or on the water.

eh im not after the money, having a job i love is what im after. right now i work at fedex, and im making almost what a warden starts out here. after a couple more years i will pass it. but i hate my job. i hate any job thats not outdoors. plus the benefits the state will give will be worth it in the long run.

That's some what true. Most o it has to do with what position you get. Ie, tn has some that are part time boating. In the summer all they do is boating, they don't get out in the woods in the summer. And like superviser bays more.

X2 it's not the money. It's about doing that you love. And you get health insherince and everything as well

In tn they have what's called comp time. Any over time you work in a week builds up. And say you have 2weeks of comp time, you could take off for 2 weeks and get paid. Or wait longer and build up even more comp time.

There's only 1 warden here and he has to do it all. On the boat on the lake part of the day, in a canoe/kayak on the river another part of the day, then possibly in the woods in the evenings. He's crazy busy. Then, if there's an investigation anywhere close, he has to go help out with that. He had to go help look for a body in a lake down towards ATL, not to mention all the investigations he has to do here, because it seems like everyone here is a poacher. Sucks that we only have 1 guy here.

thats messed up. i think most counties in TN have 2 maybe even 3 officers. i think we have a few smaller counties that may have just one. but most counties have 2 full time guys, and than maybe a part time boating.

im startin to get aggrivated now. its been 25 days into bow season and I have yet to get a shot at anything. havent even seen one in the past week. i have tried huntin new areas but it is tough as hell huntin these straight up and down mountains on public land only. in two weekends though I will be heading north a bit with the muzz and my best friend for 3 days of huntin in deer heaven. aught to be able to put atleast 3 on the ground. im just huntin meat at this point. i had been gettin so aggrivated i decided this mornin to take out the 22 and go shoot some squirrels just to draw blood. killed a limit by 9am

Here, too. All they gotta do is stand up, eat, and lay back down.

It's been cool for a week or so. Got back into the mid 70s this week. I've got the week before thanksgiving off so I'll be in the woods all week.
