i dont buy that, how are vehicles going to see each other? blue and red lights are only allowed in races but thats old news. new rules say that all vehicles with 4 wheels need a flag i believe in occotillo now

That should be pretty good for a leaf spring setup, replace that broken shim and run it!

Edited above, the broken is actually a .008. The shim is a little bent up and cheap calipers  and ok thanks, I am really happy with how the rear handled. I'll order an extra shim and pull apart the other shock just in case that one is broken too

Yeah we will see. If they rub ill get it fixed ASAP. The bottom of the bump body is just about frame level so I don't think it'll be limiting it too much. I think the angle make it look lower than it really is

Also any harm running the limit straps forward of the axel? I see a lot of guys running towards the rear bumper.

if you guys were rebuilding your shocks and only had your truck for transportation, would you drive it with just leafs? it would hurt anything really right? say you were to go on the freeway as well  reason i ask it i might do that but id rather ask now than have a shitty story later haha.

I am shockless right now, I drove without them when I first put my LT leafs on and it was fine. Alex (amaes) ran without shocks for like 6 months. The worst part is going to be wear on your tires, as with any suspension your tire hops around a lot without a shock so try to limit it. But your not going to hurt your truck

    He's wrong.
No shock results in instant death.

    Remember mike rodhopper?

Exactly you don't. He ran his truck with no shocks. Died. Instantly.

Tacokid. I used to know him

packaging is the main reason straps are normally run in the rear, run them wherever you can fit them. and as for the bumps you are limiting your uptravel by about 1+". i have mounted those same bumps on tacoma sua kits a few times now, it takes some time to get it right. but why loose out on an inch or more of up travel when the main benifit of going sua is the bump travel?
just another thing to think about when bringing the truck to someone for work , experience with that particular vehicle is paramount....

Don't you not want the leaf pack tho to go into a neg arch? Mine are just about flat on full bump..

Although I have heard about guys running almost a 1" negative arch and say its fine

X2, also curious about this. I mean I don't mind some negative arch, but how much is too much?

My "projected" bump location is well below the frame, but for two reasons.
    1) Spring was already negative arch
    2) Tire to bedside clearance.

I suppose I could take a sawsall to the bedside if it's worth going more negative arch :notsure:

Yeah but the question is, defined said I'm loosing some up travel. I just have it bumped at flat pack.

I have heard of people going 1" neg but isn't that frowned upon?

Wouldn't it just wear out the leafs faster? That and my 35's were projected to come pretty close to my glass

Depends on what the manufacter recommends. Yes its always best to bump to flat. Ive heard people saying Deaver allows no more than 1-2".

about 1" is acceptable any more and yes your leafs will sag faster. but with 2.5 bumps you wont be seeing full bump enough for you to worry if you ask me. maximizing the bumptravel also gives more travel at ride height before the bumps are engaged.i also feel a 4" travel bump is too long for the ride height the 2nd gens trucks carry, especially when your running a bypass shock..
