When I replaced my clutch during the engine replacement, I went with a Banhauf Stage 3 clutch. I'll never go back to a standard clutch again after driving with this clutch!

K well now im a little confused. So If I get the TSK kit and the flywheel/clutch combo from URD I would also need a clutch disk and pressure plate? Or are those just other names for clutch n flywheel? And I dont think Id mind a stage three, i've heard good things about them and I dont think Id mind the extra stiffness. But I will def look into it more and consider a stage II. Thanks for all the help guys, btw. I know I can ask a lot of questions haha sorry

Depending on the kit, some clutch/flywheel kits come as an entire kit, which includes a new flywheel, new clutch disk, new pressure plate, pilot bearing, and release bearing. Looking at the kit on the URD site, it shows in the picture a new flywheel, clutch, and pressure plate, but not the pilot or release bearing. You would have to contact them directly on your application.

    Yeah.
The TSK kit + the URD clutch and flywheel kit should be all you need. There may also be a pilot bearing, but I am not sure on this vehicle. URD should know. You might want to call them to make sure you get everything you need.

This operation is not for the faint of heart. I am not sure if you are planning on doing it yourself. If so, it will be a learning experience. Be patient, follow any instructions, set aside some extra budget for tools, and give yourself enough time.

Edit: Dang, I am slow. Bill is a tech, so he knows better than me anyway.

If you're not replacing the clutch and flywheel, the TSK is all you need.

Oh I thought it was just recommended to replace the clutch if you replace the TOB. Im pretty sure im on my stock clutch with 130k isnt that quite a bit for a clutch?

Uh, I replaced on the TOB when I did at 60k. I haven't had any issues. No need to replace flywheel though, just clutch and pressure plate.

Does the sound lessens as you go up tru the gears? And/or did it actually start as a rattle before it bacame a squeak? If so, i would say its the imput shaft bearing.....
    Good luck with it

I can almost guarantee you that if you put that sleeve on, your noise will go away. Almost every manual Taco in the 05+ range with the aluminum pilot shaft has a TOB squeak. Threads on this site about it are rampant. That was the reason I joined this site.

    Yeah.
Clutch wear really depends on the driver, but 130K is a decent amount of time on the original clutch. I'd say it is due. I am pretty light on clutches and normally replace at 120K before they get completely worn out.

Here's the deal. There is no way to tell if the noise is caused by the issue that Kodiak and others have had or if it is the TOB/release bearing until you get it taken apart. You can buy parts for one or the other, but you have a 50/50 chance of getting the right parts to fix the noise. But you'll need a new clutch soon anyway, and the noise and mileage, to me, indicate a worn TOB.

You don't need a flywheel. Getting it turned (like a brake rotor) is recommended but not required.

Not to discount what Kodiak and others have said, but if it was me I would start with the Aisin clutch kit since it would be needed anyway. Once it is apart, you can decide whether the URD kit is needed or not -- it is expensive for what it is. To me, the sound indicated a worn TOB.

That Aisin kit at RockAuto is a good kit, don't forget the discount code.

Anyway, that is what I would do.

Well the thing is my tires are pretty loud at highway speeds and my exhaust is pretty loud as well so its hard to tell if it lessens but I can still hear it. Plus, up until very recently i've had some front end problems with plenty of sounds and vibes (still have vibes) so I have no idea if it started as a rattle.

In my professional opinion, since your transmission will already be out, the best course of action is to fix it right. Even if your sleeve is not worn out, if it is the older style and has not been fixed, do it now, so you won't have to do it later. In my career I have only replaced ONE flywheel on a manual transmission due to clutch problems, and that is because the clutch disc wore out so much that the rivets scored the flywheel.

I would recommend: Clutch, pressure plate, TOB, pilot bearing, and the updated sleeve kit.

A decent tech can complete that job in about 3-4 hours if he has a lift and the proper tools.
